  1. beachbum M.V.P. Manager Steelers

I can see your point. I don't know how you give up 855k a week and think you're making a good decision but Bell's convinced he's going to get that money back in free agency if he enters it healthy. I don't agree with him and every week Conner looks like Bell did in this offense I think his free agency value is impacted.

No and I don't get that analogy.

Bell is refusing to play....and his penalty is $0 instead of $855K or whatever the number is weekly.

Retired players....are retired. So.....I'd like to add more but it's logic like this that makes me question the future of mankind.

That's appreciated but did you assume I didn't know 2 was greater than 1?

    For one, 3 games isn't a trend.

The Bears have some tough matchups coming up and have a ton of offensive question marks. Outside of homers and meatballs....a lot Bears fans are still very cautious about this team. Outside of the defense...because, well, Mack.

The Steelers actually won their last game....how are they trending downward? And they have the same record as the Browns...who I bet....I fucking bet...you believe are trending upward?

I think it's completely possible, even likely, that he will recoup a lot of money.

But he's damaged himself in terms of being a good teammate. And each week he loses time...I don't care how good of shape he is in....he's losing time on the field in the prime of his career. That counts for something...especially for a running back....a position that doesn't have a huge lifespan.

But yeah...valid point with Conner. His performance can make some teams think twice on Bell or at least not make them want to go full tilt on his offer.

BOTH of these examples have money being left on the table because they are both CHOOSING not to play. It isn't a penalty, it's a choice.

Well... The Steelers came into the season with a 7th power ranking that dropped to 10th and are currently 12th, the Bears came in with a 17th power ranking, dropped to 20th and have moved back up to 19th.

Steelers trend is down, Bears is up.

@beachbum did you expect to have less than 2 wins after 3 weeks when the season started? Did you expect them to be in 4th place in the AFC North? My guess is no on both counts, so that would be a downward trend.

@BearsWillWin did you "honestly" expect the Bears to have 2 wins after week 3? Did you "honestly" expect them to be I'm 1st place in the NFC North? My guess is the answer is no on both counts, upward trend.

Oh yeah....power rankings....I forgot they were the ultimate decider or things.

And yeah...after the Bears traded for Khalil Mack....I saw the Seahawks and Cardinals as both games the Bears definitely should win.

The next time a player hits another player illegally and draws a flag and a fine...I guess we can’t say he was punished by the league. After all....he CHOSE to hit him illegally, right?

    Head in ass logic.

Yes the Steelers could tag him again if he sits out all season but why in the world would they? Yes if he walks they dont get anything in return but if they tag him they end up in the exact position they are now. The money they would have to tag him again would be better used bringing in some free agents to help their defense.

I cant believe they throw 75% of the time which leads the NFL... no run game is deadly and the defense boggles my mind.

Jared Goff tosses five touchdowns in leading Rams to 38-31 win over Vikings...

Jared Goff produced perhaps the most prolific passing day in the history of the Los Angeles Rams and John Franklin-Myers strip-sacked Kirk Cousins to carry the Rams to a 38-31 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday night.

Goff passed for 465 yards with five touchdowns on 26 of 33 passing and a perfect passer rating of 158.3 as the Rams sliced their way through the Vikings defense. Goff tossed a pair of touchdowns to Cooper Kupp, and one each to Todd Gurley, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks to move to 4-0 for the first time since 2001.

Goff is the ninth player in Rams franchise history to toss five touchdowns in a game. Only one other of those efforts – Norm Van Brocklin against Detroit in 1950 – came with zero interceptions being thrown. And while Van Brocklin passed for 293 yards that day, Goff eclipsed the 450-yard mark against the Vikings.

Cousins did his best to keep up with the Rams offense. He completed 36 of 50 passes for 422 yards and three touchdowns before the lost fumble on Minnesota’s final possession ended their chances.

A 16-yard touchdown pass to Aldrick Robinson gave Minnesota the early 7-0 lead, but the Rams would respond immediately with an 8-yard touchdown from Goff to Gurley. Dan Bailey‘s 37-yard field goal gave the Vikings a 10-7 lead before Kupp raced for a 70-yard touchdown to give the Rams a 14-10 advantage.

Cousins and Robinson would connect again for a 17-yard touchdown to put the Vikings back in front before another Goff to Kupp touchdown gave the Rams the lead for good. A 47-yard pass to Cooks extended the L.A. lead to 28-17, but Bailey would connect on his second field goal of the night to make it a 28-20 game at half.

After a 34-yard Sam Ficken field goal, Cousins would hit Adam Thielen for a 45-yard score to close within three at 31-28. The Rams would respond once again with a 31-yard touchdown from Goff to Woods to take a 38-28 lead. Ficken missed a 28-yard field goal and Bailey connected on a 40-yard try to make it a one score game with 3:46 left to play. But after stopping the Rams inches shy of a first down, Franklin-Myers came up with the icing on the cake to seal the win for the Rams.

The 556 yards of offense allowed by the Vikings was the fifth most allowed in franchise history and most allowed since the Atlanta Falcons gained 558 yards in a 41-28 win over Minnesota in 2014. (NBC's, PFT)

I should have known to not engage in a conversation with you... Stop trying to pick a fight here. I say the Bears are trending down and you would call my a pussy, I say the Bears up and all you want to do is argue. It doesn't matter what I say, you are looking to get something going.

The conversation was about Le'Veon Bell and his contract, why even take it this way? I used the Bears as an example in a post and you go off on a tangent about how trends aren't trends, just because I am trying to explain the reason I used the Bears in the post, speaking with a Bears fan...

If you have anything to say in the future to me, just be prepared, unless it is an actual constructive comment or question, it probably won't get a response from me. I'm done with your immature chest pumping.

You complain about my examples, that actually make sense, and throw some inane sentence that isn't relevant or relative to the conversation at all, thinking that is makes my post look dumb. I hate to say this, but you are not helping your cause.

    Let's look at this again....

A player is "FINED", and you are saying we can't say they are being punished by the league? What does that have to do with anything? I am genuinely curious how you got to this asinine example.

Let me remind everyone what the actual examples were:

You state, Le'Veon Bell is being punished by the Steelers because they hold all the cards, so he isn't getting paid.

I state, he isn't getting punished, he CHOSE to not play. He has an avenue to play and get paid, the Steelers aren't blocking his road to play.

So, then I give an actual similar example, retired players have a contract available to play NFL football (just like Le'Veon Bell has a contract available to play NFL football)...They CHOOSE not to play on that contract, so they are sitting at home (just like LE'Veon Bell) Not playing football and not being paid. So, I pose the question, are THEY being punished because they aren't being paid?

    And you come up with:

    Me = :sos:
    You = :foil:

This is asinine that I continue to attempt to have a conversation with you...
