I thought Zimmer was a defensive back field guru what's with all these deep passes and across the middle,it's starting to look like a weakness Tricky Ricky it's been years why can't you get the O-line together?

Report: Everson Griffen involved in weekend incident at Minneapolis hotel...

The only explanation the Vikings provided about Everson Griffen‘s absence from Sunday’s game is the defensive end was attending to a “personal matter.” That left it to reporters to track down the reason, and one has.

Ryan Raiche of KSTP-TV reports that Griffen was involved in an incident at a Minneapolis hotel Saturday night. The name of the person verbally threatening to shoot someone was redacted from the police report, but according to Raiche, it was Griffen.

Hotel staff moved into a back office at one point as Griffen paced around the lobby and threatened to assault hotel employees if he wasn’t allowed into his room. No gun was seen, according to police, and Griffen was not arrested.

Minneapolis Police Department spokesman John Elder told Raiche that the man left on his own and the caller no longer is cooperating.

Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman provided a statement to Raiche, “We are aware of the situation involving Everson Griffen and certainly concerned by what we have heard. We are currently focused on Everson’s well-being and providing the appropriate support for him and his family.”

Griffen has a knee injury that kept him from playing against the Bills. (PFT)

Could be. In the 70’s this wouldn’t even make the news, nowadays it’s might be enough to end his career.

Report: Vikings long snapper Kevin McDermott lost tip of finger caught in helmet...

The Minnesota Vikings had to turn to a backup long snapper David Morgan for a pair of special teams snaps on Thursday as regular long snapper Kevin McDermott had to exit the game due to an injury.

According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com, McDermott lost part of the pinky finger on his left hand after getting it caught in a helmet. He had to go to the locker room to get stitches before returning to the game.

In looking at replays of the play McDermott appeared to get hurt – Dan Bailey‘s 37-yard field goal that bounced through off the right upright – McDermott’s hand appeared to get caught between Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers and the helmet of Vikings offensive lineman Tom Compton. McDermott immediately grabs his left hand after the play and missed the next two special teams snaps while getting his hand addressed.

Reshad Johnson lost part of a finger playing safety for the Arizona Cardinals in 2013. Ronnie Lott had part of his left pinky amputated after the 1985 after having it broken in a game. It’s an injury that can happen on the football field, though somewhat rare.

I'm starting to wonder can the Vikings depend on Dalvin Cook getting sick and tired of this him not playing

I thought the running game would be better. Its non-existent right now... and that's a big problem.

Mike Zimmer: We’re going to shore up some things and go from there...

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said on Thursday night that his team’s pass defense was as poor as he’s ever seen and added that he’s “been concerned all year long” about the overall defensive play.

On Friday, Zimmer’s concern remains but he made it clear that he’s not panicked about the team’s 1-2-1 start to the season. Zimmer said he believes that the Vikings will be able to beat anyone “if we put it all together,” but knows that it may take some time before that happens.

“I mean, I figured that was going to be the case,” Zimmer said, via the team’s website. “Everybody forgets we were 2-2 last year at this time. We’ll just keep fighting and playing. Just because everybody expected us to be 4-0 at this time or whatever doesn’t mean that’s realistic. We’re just going to keep fighting, and we’re going to shore up some things, continue to get better and go from there.”

The Vikings will get a few extra days to prepare before heading to Philadelphia in Week Five and the schedule than eases up a bit for a couple of weeks with games against the Cardinals and Jets. They then move on to face the Saints to wrap up the first half of the season and hopes for the same kind of success they enjoyed last season may go unrealized if everything hasn’t fallen into place by then. At least all the games were decent with exception to the Buffalo game... Vikings get that defense shored up and look out!

I have another question for you why does it seem like Zimmer is always being out coached? and when are they going show Tricky Ricky the door enough of this madness IMO this guy sucks and there needs to be a change in the front office

Now I have no idea what's going to happen the Eagles seem to have the Vikings number, how come they don't see who can play linebacker or trade for one
