:confused:I'm in the scotia theatre getting ready to watch F11/9. Maybe I'll make it a double header and head off to the scotia arena to watch the leafs/sabres later on.

Huh? Sounds like a scotiaplan :wall:

Last couple Panthers preseason games will be interesting. They're looking at Borgstrom on the wing, which I think is smart, and what I was hoping they'd give a try. This would mean MacKenzie would stay at 4th line C, and take the pressure of Borgstrom. However, Mac is still really only useful for his defense and team leadership, and you could make the argument that putting Borgstrom at wing reduces opportunities for our massive inventory of bottom 6 wingers.

I could see a scenario wherein, as the season progresses, Borgstrom moves to 4th line C, another young W gets called up, and Mac takes the bench. Either way, Borgstrom on the wing gives them more flexibility.

Right now, coaches and players liked what they saw out of Borgstrom - McCann - Malgin line. I also love this combination, but it means that Vatrano would be a 4th line guy, and I just think his ability warrants more ice time. At the end of the season, for the few games he played, he was on the second line and looked great. Some would accredit that to Trocheck and Huberdeau, but I think Vatrano earned his keep and did his part.

This was a big thing to watch for the Panthers coming in, and will stay that way right up until the season starts. Who are the bottom 6 forwards, and how does that change the roster outlook going forward? Can get they get time for young guys showing promise like Mamin, Malgin, Vatrano, Borgstrom, and more?

Tavares makes the game look easy... early on, 3-1 Toronto over Buffalo.

Ekblad on Domi sucker punch: ‘Scores will get settled’...

The Panthers had some choice words following the game, with goaltender Roberto Luongo saying they won’t forget what happened and calling what Domi did “a gutless play.” Ekblad, who was also sporting a pair of black eyes, said on Friday that it was a “dumb” decision by the Canadiens forward and hinted at some retribution coming when they meet on Dec. 28.

“I think he’s stupid for doing it. In the end, it’s hockey,” Ekblad said via the Panthers. “That’s the way it goes. Scores will get settled at a later date.”

That’s going to earn a phone call from the league to try and calm things down.

“It looked like Max was frustrated,” added Ekblad. “He obviously wasn’t doing much in the game and thought it was the right way to take care of something. I’m not sure what there was to take care of, considering I didn’t do much on the ice. I was just floating around trying to find my legs and play hockey. That’s what you do in the preseason.”

When told of Ekblad’s comments, Domi responded, “It’s part of the game. It is what it is. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. That’s hockey. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there.”
