What an offseason we've had, tons of moves and maneuvers.

Ottawa trades Hoffman to Florida after some strange cyberbullying allegations.
Ottawa trades Erik Karlsson for a bunch of jabronis.
Montreal trades Galchenyuk for Max Domi and then Pacioretty to LV.
    Jeff Skinner dealt to Buffalo.
Buffalo lets Robin Lehner walk and grabs Carter Hutton. Interesting news coming out since on Lehner.

    Tavares lands in Toronto.
Doughty reups for over $11m per.
Seguin and Wheeler re-up for big bucks.

Yzerman walks from a great spot in TB.

Aleksander Barkov named Captain for the 25th anniversary season of the Florida Panthers, 10th in team history.

Quietest guy on the team. Also the hardest working, and most talented. You can't get anyone in front of a microphone without them talking about how good he is. This has a lot of implications and ramifications. What I would assume is to see guys like Trocheck, Yandle, and Ekblad getting the A's, and being the vocal presences - the ones to yell at refs, pump everyone up, etc. Barkov will always be the example.

Interesting move. Not sure Mackenzie makes the team, if other guys are going to be leaned on as veteran leaders. That and his defense were why he was there. Did Borgstrom's emergence necessitate this, so they could get him in the lineup at C? Lots to ponder, here.

When asked, he said, "I couldn't find any new shootout moves on YouTube, so I guess I'll just have to make more up". So that'll be fun.

He's undoubtedly one of the best young players in the league. It's a fuckin' treat to watch him play, every game. We're privileged to do so. I know I'll be buying a Barkov jersey with the C and 25th anniversary patch. But, he's so shy and quiet, a lot of people (myself included) doubted this would be the pick for the new Captain. As long as guys like Trocheck are willing to stand alongside him and be the mouthpiece, Barkov is as good an example of a pro as it gets. I'm on board this train, baby.

    First preseason action today.

This is it, in my opinion. He lets his work ethic and game do the talking... leads by example is spot on.
