You aren't the only one aloud to be a grumpy old bastard on here. lol! I deleted it. I don't know why you always come at me like I'm something just short of showstopper. Whether you agree with me or not, I at least explained my reasoning for wanting the Browns to make the switch. The way you singled me out and insinuated I'm the only Browns fan that wants them to put in Mayfield, did piss me off. It's a pretty hot topic of conversation, not only in Brownstown, but everywhere, in case you haven't noticed. Taylor was atrocious on Sunday, and like many others, I think Mayfield would have found a way to convert 6 turnovers into a little bit more than 7 points. In fact, I think we would have won easily. Mayfield would not have missed 27 opportunities to find Josh Gordon in "one on one" situations. That pass at the end of regulation was an embarrassment. We had SO many blown opportunities. But it's over...The Browns are stubbornly committed to this plan of making Baker sit and watch. I don't know what good it's doing him watching Tyrod, but whatever....I know I'm not the only one that wanted them to pull the plug on the Tyrod plan at halftime in the opener...
. . . Who better learn not to lead with the crown of his helmet. Did anyone else notice the "9" (as in #90) was missing from the front of his helmet? I noticed it was gone sometime in the early 4th qtr.
There's no doubt that advantages can be had by letting the rook sit and learn behind a better player...I just don't think we have that in Cleveland. Just my take.
After rewatching this piece of crap game again, I believe you guys would have been better off with Mayfield. Taylor sucks, the only thing he does good is run plus he protects the ball. I wouldn’t want him on the Steelers if we had a good rookie QB.
I'm hoping Tyrod turns it around this week, but I get where you're coming from. If this team goes 0-2-1 to start, I believe they'd (1) turn to Haley at HC, and (2) turn to Mayfield on the 10-day week before playing Oakland (a very beatable team).
I'm expecting a bounce back week from Tyrod...I know he's capable of a good game, and I think he'll have one in New Orleans. Nobody is expecting the Browns to win this week, so Tyrod should go into this game much more relaxed and feed off of that...Everyone is talking about how angry the Saints are after the opener, as if it's a forgone conclusion that they are gonna smash Cleveland. IMO It sets up nice for the Browns to potentially pull the upset, if they can eliminate some of the mental mistakes.
I guess Callaway is gonna have to step up big if the Browns are going to have a shot at knocking off the Saints...
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Browns prefer to trade Josh Gordon outside of the AFC. That would seem to eliminate the Patriots as a potential landing spot. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported earlier that the 49ers and Cowboys are among Gordon's preferred destinations. Both teams have a need at wide receiver, though obviously Gordon's health remains a concern coming off a hamstring injury. Rapoport confirmed today that Gordon's falling out with Cleveland has nothing to do with his past substance abuse issues.
