Week 1: Bills @ Ravens

I actually fully understood Humphrey over Howard and thought it'd end up being the better decision, although I admittedly just wasn't super big on Humphrey himself. I gave him a chance because Ozzie has simply been great with day 1 and day 2 CBs. Duane Starks, Chris McAlister, Lardarius Webb, and Jimmy Smith. I was never as big on Gary Baxter as others were but I guess you can include him also.

 

Sadly that is one of the glory positions. Very flashy and gaudy stats if you hit and the team is built for it. QB is another. He's only picked one top QB and Joe is seen as a "boring QB" by the media and other fan bases. Yet even today after yesterday's performance, NFL.com isn't talking Joe unless you go to the game highlite reel. However, they're also not talking Lamar Jackson either who was pedestrian. Maybe that was the reason - the Ravens actual media darling didn't do enough to wow them and Joe is still a "boring QB" despite the ridiculous point spread. And for once that score wasn't bolsetered by defensive TDs either. Joe is just destined to get overlooked.

Wide receiver-wise only Moore caught a pass from Ozzie-drafted players and I'm not sure that Lasley will ever help Ozzie's image as even a mediocre WR drafting GM.

 

Too early to write off Lasley. He still has room to improve.

In terms of Joe not getting media attention, he will on Friday. 1, because only two teams will play Thursday so they have to discuss it. And 2, because he'll continue his good play against the Bengals

 

Well, I wasn't righting Lasley off. Just commenting that I don't think that he'll help Ozzie's track record in the long run. I doubt he reach's Torrey Smith levels which would be nice, but even that won't make up for Newsome's lack of WR success.

 

Dixon expected to miss some time. The guy is made of glass. He didn't even play a full game

 

This was posted on another forum. Admittedly I was ready to push Joe out the door, so I feel I had to share this. In hindsight, this was amazing regardless of who the opponent was. The weather was ridiculous. And this was without much help from the running game while practically in a monsoon.

Annnnnnd Dixon is on IR. The man us too brittle to count on. He's as bad as Campanero

 

Turner the Burner will be an interesting play. He won't have Dixon's ability, but he's quick and likely made of stronger stuff.
