Yeah a bunch of us were discussing this yesterday on one of the other threads. You should check it out, some good back and forth.

The video isn't quite as bad as the still. But not by much....

Not sure how I missed that. Thanks Ev

Rick Mirer is one of the worst bears QBs ever and would never have come out and played in the first half like Trubisky came out initially. So no comparison.

    The good....

Trubisky has an arm. Like...he can really zip it.

He has accuracy. Really high accuracy.

His footwork can improve but it's not awful.

He has quick feet and can get away from pressure with relative ease at times.

    The bad....

Struggles when his first read is taken away.

Obviously can be shook simply by the magnitude of the moment, it would seem.

Playcalling...and possible his audibles too.....look like an problem. At times anyway.

The best news is the things he is good at can't be coached. And the things he has struggled with, for the most part, can.

So I ask myself the same question I did yesterday....is Nagy the guy that can fix this? I won't damn a coach to hell on his playcalling in the first game of his head coaching career. But I'm going to be scrutinizing play calling a lot this season.

I will when he shits the bed the way he did on National TV against the Packers.

This is another question for me. Please don't laugh coz I really don't know how this works. Can Trubisky hear his coach? How does he hear him? Does he know the play himself or is someone else telling him to do it?

I agree he shit the bed. And he deserves criticism for it.

What I meant was I'm not gonna say Nagy won't ever be a good play caller based off one game.

He got an F for Sunday night.

BF, the next time you watch an NFL game, any game, look at the back of the QB's helmet and you will see a green dot. That green dot signifies that that helmet is equipped to hear instructions from the sideline.

There may also be a defensive player with the same capabilitiy.

Ah. I wondered about this. A green dot huh? Okay I'll check this weekend if I can watch the Bears. So what if someone grabs the wrong helmet, then what happens?

And yes Bww, your idea definitely appeals to me. Good thing I know it's a joke or I may have spent a lot of time trying to help him out using my psychic abilities ...

    I'm almost completely speechless. Again.

LOL but damnit you guys are funny. Very mean, pretty horrible and hateful but ... funny. Your ONE redeeming quality in this very bewildering website full of strange sports talk.

Speaking of which. It's about that time ...

Here's another thing. If AR had not come back that game was ours. The dude that was in QB position looked terrified and played really poorly (in my blissfully ignorant opinion). So what about that huh?

Here, this is an article I just read. It's not about Trubisky but Mack. I think it's interesting.

Khalil Mack wasn't satisfied with Bears debut

Khalil Mack was everything he was advertised to be in his first game with the Chicago Bears in Week 1. While the Bears were unable to hold onto a 20-0 lead, Mack still played an incredible game. What was even more impressive with Mack is he missed all of training camp and the preseason with the Oakland Raiders before he was traded to the Bears on September 1. In just over a week he found himself on the field playing 70 percent of snaps on defense after just a handful of practice opportunities.

Mack dominated early in the game. He easily pushed back right tackle Bryan Bulaga toward quarterback Aaron Rodgers on his first snap and then drew a holding penalty on his second snap. After Rodgers went down with an injury, Mack feasted on second-year quarterback DeShone Kizer. First, Mack ripped the ball right out of Kizer's hands on a strip sack which resulted in the former Defensive Player of the Year coming away with the fumble recovery. With Chicago sitting on a 13-0 lead near the end of the first half, Mack struck again. Kizer was pressured by defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris and tried connecting on a screen pass which was picked off by Mack. The talented pass-rusher then rumbled his way into the end zone for his first touchdown as a Bear.

Despite that productivity early, Mack was not happy with his overall performance.

“Gotta get better,” Mack said, via JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports Chicago. “Gotta get way better, especially down the stretch being in a position to win the game and sack, fumble, just like they did on the other side of the ball. It’s one of those things for me. I’m learning from everything. Yeah, I had a few positives, but it’s a lot of negatives.”

If Mack mentioned after the game he thought he played well and felt good moving forward, no one would question him. But since he has shown a humble side, Mack has been able to make himself even more likable to a fan base that walked away impressed by what Mack did on the field. His ability to get after the quarterback is unquestioned but it was also obvious he was not at 100 percent with his conditioning. Mack worked out throughout the offseason but replicating game action is not easy to do until someone is actually on the field. It will also continue to take a little more time before he gets completely comfortable in this scheme.

Mack was flat out dominant at times against the Packers on Sunday night in his first appearance in a Bears uniform. Once he gets completely up to speed and 100 percent conditioned for the regular season there is no telling how good he can be on a weekly basis in Chicago.

"That dude" was the ex-Browns 0-15 starter in 2017, DeShone Kizer.... He didn't improve with the Green Bay magic placed around him.
