I think a lot of people lost their cool last night blang, you weren't alone. We all had to watch the gradual but swift destruction of our hopes again plus having to put up with that idiot SPress didn't help the situation either.

Nothing to apologize for...we are all adults here.

    Frustration was justified last night.

I don't think we're going to have to worry about seeing that guy who dismally failed Trolling #101 very often anymore.

For me the night is wrapped up with the words we have all now heard that were said last night :

" WELL THEY DIDN'T HAVE A LOT OF PRESEASON REPS "

If the Bears had won last night like they should have I see more wins on the schedule that expected , now I feel like they may not win another game all year .

How about seeing Mack as the last guy running down the receiver on the last TD by GB , where the fuk was anyone at all from the secondary ????? I'll tell you where , they fn gave up one the play , culture change my azz .

" We will look at the tape , learn from it , and get ready for next week " been hearing that fn BS since the mid 2000's and it's so old it's past pathetic.

I don’t have anything to say that hasn’t been said honestly. This fucking team, they rocked me out of my apathy only to crush it all the worse.

It is only one game so there’s hope but I am pissed beyond belief.

    1. Nagy- I cannot believe he said reps in preseason. Holy shit. Going for it on 4th and 4. Passing on 3rd and 1. Failure to adjust. He’s got a lot to prove to win the fan base back after that. But man is it hard to believe right now.

    2. Trubs was sharp that first drive and had that laser in the middle. Then later he missed that corner TD he overthrew. End of the game balls were sailing on him. I’m legitimately worried now, there were some glimmers but when it mattered he didn’t deliver. The immediate future rests on him. The two minute drill I put on him, the rest of the game Nagy can take the blame. Mongo I’m really looking forward to your breakdown, is he rushing and not going through progressions, we’re he plays poorly designed or are people not getting open?

    3. The D we give a pass a lot here but that big play for the go ahead score was a back breaker and should never happen.

    4. Whitehair, holy hell. While he’s our center shotgun will be a nightmare, he’s had some botched handoffs too so there’s that. The ineligible downfield can happen when a play breaks down and goes that long, but a momentum killer right when Trubs completes the first down.

Since no ones giving silver linings I will. Mack is going to be in better shape in the next few games and it does without saying he was a MONSTER on the field. Smith also looked good in limited time so despite some less than great secondary play this defense is quite legit. Howard and Cohen are a great powerhouse. Used properly we have a very good tandem. That’s all I’ve got right now.

I was really impressed with Cohen. He really seemed to find his feet.

Ohhhhhhhhh man. I really hated that nickname. Depressing that we might have reason to use it again.

Crazy wasn't it, Mack and Floyd, the only two guys in the frame.

Jackson was still eating turf after going all in and blowing it, Amos(i think) turned up at about the 2 and whiffed. The CB's, god knows.

@blang buddy, good to see you back today man. The game threads are always highly charged and most of us are usually drunk. We all go a bit OTT sometimes, i sure have over the years. And tbh, i like it. They're game threads, they're meant to be that way. So classy move on your part, but no apologies necessary.

After re watching the game a couple of times I dont think things are as bad as they seemed in the moment last night. There are a bunch of things that set off alarms but no need to throw the season out the window just yet.

    The Good:

Outside of a couple of crippling break downs the D looks legit. Most of the damage was done on scramble drills when Rodgers was able to extend plays in the 4th quarter due to a gassed pass rush. Dont get me wrong tackling in the secondary needs to get a hell of a lot better. Run D was on point.

Howard was a beast running when given the chance AND he caught all the catchable balls thrown his way.

Robinson looked good as did Cohen, Gabriel and Miller.

The kickers did their jobs like they should.

    The Bad:

Nagy had a rough night. His offense only managed 16 points. Clock management was atrocious. Play calling was suspect at best. Way too many screens and an inability to adjust on the fly. Plus the deer in the headlights look when Rodgers came back and led the biggest comeback of his career.

Trubisky did NOT take any steps forward in his first game with his new weapons and guru calling the plays. The only thing that kept his completion percentage respectable was all the screen passes and dump offs. Out side of 3 or 4 nice throws the kid looked pedestrian as fuck. Ill wait to see the all 22 before I see just how bad his decision making and throws were but the one play that pissed me off the most was missing Cohen on a possible TD when he had a fucking DE covering him. Good QB's take advantage of that match up.

There were plenty of fuck ups to go around but if these two do just a so so job instead of shitting the bed we win our first game.

He looked EXACTLY like the guy who played last year.

And his stats kinda back that up...

Quick question: Were you more pissed about last nights game or the NFCCG in 2010?

While this game meant so much less than that game, I honestly think I was more pissed last night.

That's not to say that that game wasn't upsetting. But, I wasn't as measurably pissed. I maen, I was pissed at Cutler. And I was pissed at Martz for letting the Packers into the playoffs. But I never really thought we had a chance during that game. Last night I was so fucking high, and I knew by the time Mack had his fumble 6, there was absolutley ZERO chance we would lose.

To then watch Nagy pull a Trest/fox...

I don't know. Maybe time heals all wounds.

Then again, I am still fucking pissed about what Charles Martin did to McMahon.

    So...

Having a discussion with a Patriots fan (not the dipshit that was in here) and he said "you don't like to see great players injured" I said "fuck that I have two words for that Charles Martin"

Bww covered a lot of mine.

Trubisky looked like he had the yips, even on plays when he shouldn't have. I don't know if that's inexperience, if that's just a QB who can throw on the run perpetually thinking he has to take off. Protection was overall solid, no OLinemen surrendered more than 2 pressures. When he needed to sit in the pocket, he wanted to run, on a ton of plays he had time too. He was responsible for his sacks than blown OLine assignments. Yeah, he's gotta fix that.

Cody Whitehair's experiment at Center needs to end. You took James Daniels in the 2nd round for a reason.

Nagy needed to simplify at times. Not to "Monday Morning QB this," but that 3rd and 1 I'm putting on Sims. Cohen was clearly the first read, and he had the match up because the packers defensive end ran with him on the wheel route. A nice touch pass and we aren't talking but Trubisky looked it off. Sims was 2nd or 3rd read, and that is on him. You have to know where the sticks are.

But I also put it on Nagy. They couldn't stop Jordan Howard, and you had 2 downs to get a yard and a half. You're going to give Aaron Rodgers a chance to beat you with 2-3 minutes? Are you new here?

Kyle Fuller's dropped INT was crushing. Rodgers doesn't make mistakes, but he did.

Nick Kwiatkowski is slow. He knows his role, but fuck he is slow. If only the Bears drafted a hyper athletic, collegiate stand out ILB.

Khalil Mack was only supposed to play 20 snaps, but played 42 snaps. And he wasn't in touch with the scheme or complexity? He's dangerous.

Aaron Lynch is useless. Mack pushed back Bulaga consistently and knocked him off balance. Lynch got gobbled up from the packers' corn fed, 1 legged RT. He just stopped and got stood up on contact.

    No Barf!

Watch the replay. Khalil Mack tipped the ball and redirected it right to Fuller.

Also, watch the replay of the deep TD to Geronimo Alison. HUGE HUGE pushoff on Fuller. Fuller was step by step with him. until he stiff armed him as the ball was coming down.

And the mistake was throwing it on the side of a premier pass rusher who showed in a week's time for the game he was more than just a hammer going after the QB, the way all pundits thought he was.

I think the Pack also tried a bit of a pick play crossing the routes, but it was the WR going outside that got knocked down.

The 3rd and 1 in the red zone is so frustrating. It made Howard's huge run on 2nd and 13 meaningless, and the plays first read was Cohen who had a step or two on a DE for a TD. On that play the othwr 3 routes were pretty much all jumled up at the sticks all within 5-10 yards of each other. It looked like something went wrong there.

    Yup.

I am watching the replay (all 22 not posted yet) and fuck... They got away with a shit ton of holding, PI's, illegal BIB's....

I suspect they basically said "we're going to lose, so go fuck-all out.

    And the refs let them.

Ia m not blaming this on the refs, but shit. That 2nd half was not called right.

On the play of Sims at 8:25 of the 2nd quarter 1st and 20. At first I thought the defender tipped it but the angle they give in slow motion shows that it wasn't tipped. Sims is there awaiting Trubisky to throw him a beach ball his hands two feet apart the ball hits him squarely on the numbers and bounces off his chest before he closes hands to make the catch. Talk about whiff.
