Is this real? Did he really say that? ... 'Cause I'll lose my mind, if that's the case. You're the head coach. You didn't put them out there. You defended not putting them out there. Yeah, I'll go ballistic if that's what he said.
Trying to find the audio or video myself. They keep playing it and laughing, bitterly, on Carmen and Jurko.
I can’t remember how everyone here felt about the Bears matching his offer, but I fuckin hated it. Years of mediocre to bad play, followed by one great year in a contract year? Fuck that, shoulda let the packers have him
Its very tempting to blame one or two guys for that Sharknado Fuck in the 2nd half, and you totally could. But there's plenty of blame to go round after this, so im gonna take the time to blame all of these shitbirds. This will be a rant, so strap in or exit the vehicle. - Nagy's performance in this game was a total shitshow. It was full Trestmanesque, from deciding he didn't need a running game cos he had all his little screen passes, to his kumbaya "im so proud of my losers" post-game presser. I'm gonna get to Trubisky, but Nagy's performance in this individual game, and the early feeling of where the team is going under him generally, is already massively concerning to me. Outside of the scripted plays(which were very good), almost everything Nagy touched turned to shit. How in the hell does Howard end this game with only 15 carries?? That was buffoonery on a par with Fartz ditching Forte in the 2nd half of the NFCCG. Where the F were the adjustments?! Was he even paying attention? Once the Packers caught onto what Nagy was doing we saw Dime looks on D pretty much the entire game. They were just asking us to run it. And yet still Nagy continued with his dink & dunk shit. Asshole, the one thing you shouldn't do facing Dime is dink and dunk cos you've got people everywhere trying to jump routes and generally smothering the play. You should go power and run it right down their throat cos there's only 1 LB on the field! The 3rd & 1, holy shit that blew my mind. I mean where do you start. Dion Sims, LMFAO. It was a long 1 let me say, prob 1 1/2. But it changes nothing really, you HAVE to run the ball in that situation. These smart-ass "modern" playcallers who think they know best annoy the F out of me. It cost the Seahawks a SB, it cost the Falcons a SB, and it cost us the game. Run the motherfucking ball!!! Then run it again if you have to, but don't kick the FG! Did Nagy even know who he was playing against last night? You don't hold Erin Rodgers to a FG and win the game. You only beat Rodgers at the end by keeping him on the sideline. That 3rd & 1, and 4th & 1 if needed, were for the game. To say it troubles me that Nagy doesn't get that.... is an understatement. And if that wasn't enough..... Trubisky did not get enough football in preseason, i don't care what anyone says. Nagy assured us all this Offense was ready to go. They didn't need the extra time. Well Trubisky's rabbit in the headlights look says otherwise. They put up 1 TD & 3 FG's all game. 16points. That's less than they averaged per game under Fox & Loggains. Yeah. - Trubisky. Ok, starting to get v worried now. You want young players to get better the more they play. Gotta be honest, i think Trubisky might be getting worse. There are some GLARING weaknesses in his game. His performance when he's pressured is bad. Thats the kinda thing the league will figure out fast. In fact it prob already has. I don't think he's going through his progressions right. Does Trubisky ever make it to his 3rd read? He gets scrambled and thrown off rhythm way too easily. There were a host of throws in the 2nd half that he should've made and didn't. I know by their very nature its hard to assess intangibles, but im a big believer in them. Its one of the reasons i and others wanted to draft Watson. Im not sure Trubisky has any. - Whitehair should not be playing C. His snapping is just too unreliable. Daniels should be at C, that he isn't is on Pace imo. If you draft an OL in the 2nd round then he should be a day 1 starter, if he's not the GM has prob got it wrong. Ive heard the excuse about Whitehair making the calls, thats bullshit. Its possible to make the calls from LG if necessary. - When the hell is Kyle Fuller gonna learn to friggin catch!! - Where are the people who couldn't understand my hate of Prince getting extended at $9mil a year? Prince was terrible last night, i swear that guy won the goddam lottery getting resigned with this team. 5th highest paid player on the team for Christ sake. 22nd highest paid CB in the league. F you Pace. - So are we all cool with pumping the brakes on the ridiculous Trey Burton for All-Pro chat now? Just for a while? - Likewise the Eddie Jackson - Ed Reed comparisons? - F_ck you Noquan Smith. Your punk-ass should've been on that field the entire game. It wasn't tho was it, cos you're a jagoff who held out all summer over nothing and weren't ready. Instead it was Kwitkowski out there and he stunk. You owe this team big, pissant. - Yeah, Dion Sims sucks. - The human joystick pretty much disappeared for the final 3 quarters of the game. Ok, Trubisky missed him a couple times later on, but again, how is this kinda stuff different from the last 2 guys calling plays? You start ignoring your playmakers so you can throw to the Dion Sims's of this world. Dumb. This game always looked like it was gonna come to soon for the Bears, the funny part is it didn't really. There must've been like 10 opportunities to kill that game for good and one person after another screwed the pooch. Sickening. - Oh and Erin wasn't hurt nearly as bad as they were all making out, no way. So F everybody. Rant over, please join us again next week. Same time, same channel.
The worst part about the 3rd and one play was Sims was the only option by play design. No other receivers in any rout. WTF!!!
Gabriel had 1 catch for 31 yards (I think), followed by 4 more catches for -6 yards. The Bears have been awful at those wr bubble screens.... forever. Ron Turner called them all the time and never went anywhere either.
Haven’t had a lot of reps in the preseason... Mother fucker.. is he THIS fucking dumb or does he think that little of his fan base that he thinks we don’t remember what he did in game 3 and his reason for it; which I believe was “they’ve had 1500 reps in practice so one more game wouldn’t matter..” or some bullshit to that effect. Unfuckingbelievable. We hired Marc Trestman again. Want further proof? He will be making different captains every week. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports...m-hicks-benny-cunningham-captains-rotate/amp/ Now... Who brought the juice boxes???
Nagy is full of shit. This video makes me question ALL of his abilities. Saying, "Well the Packers played really well ... blah blah blah". Nobody asked him about the Packers' game because they fucking won. Why isn't he showing some intelligence in this interview? All he is is a bunch of poor and lame excuses. When a coach can say, "They were off track a little bit" you have really big problems.
I just read this: Matt Nagy deserves criticism in Bears loss ByMatt Eurich 11 hours ago 0 (Photo: Stacy Revere, Getty) Matt Nagy made it a point when he was hired by the Chicago Bears to let the masses know he is going to be an aggressive play-caller as the head coach of his new team. In his first game as the head coach of the Bears in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, Nagy's offense was creative and aggressive from the jump. He was showing looks that have not been seen before—such as lining up left tackle Charles Leno out wide as a receiver early in the game. The offense was flowing well on its first two drives. After that moment, the offense stalled. Then it continued to stall for the rest of the game with Nagy becoming less and less aggressive in his approach. "We talked about finishing and obviously we didn't do that," Nagy said after Sunday night's game. "I'll say this: I'm really proud of our team. I'm proud of our guys. They did a lot of good things tonight." When Nagy was calling plays last year for the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs he saw his team squander away a 21-3 halftime lead. In that game the offense struggled mightily in the second half, prompting many to blame Nagy for his play-calling. After that loss he owned up to it when he was introduced to the Bears media following his hiring. "I called every single play in the second half," Nagy said, via Kirk Larrabee of 247Sports. "Again, that there, that's a learning situation for me. I've gone back and looked at it. There's scenarios where I wish I would have made some different choices with the play call. But for me, that was a failure in my book. But I'll grow from it and I'll learn from it. I promise you that. So I'll learn that as a strength here for me with the Chicago Bears. I felt terrible for our team, for our organization. We put in a lot of good work." A playoff loss and a loss in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers are far from the same thing, but Nagy has been strong in his conviction all offseason long that he was going to be aggressive when he needed to be. When given a chance to push the pedal to the floor in the second half, Chicago played it far too safe. On the first drive of the second half, Chicago's offense moved the ball 60 yards on 12 plays to set up a field goal for Cody Parkey. The team then extended a 20-0 lead on Green Bay. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who left in the first half with an injury, returned for the Packers and led his team down the field for a field goal of their own on the subsequent drive. The next drive saw the Bears punt the ball after going three-and-out. The Packers then scored a touchdown, cutting Chicago's lead to 20-10. After that drive, Chicago once again went three-and-out and was forced to punt. On the ensuing drive, Green Bay marched 75 yards down the field to score a touchdown in just five plays. The Bears offense found a little more momentum, picking up 61 yards on a 14-play drive that only resulted in a field goal, pushing the lead to 23-17. Rodgers and the Packers scored a touchdown three plays later, taking a 24-23 lead. The Bears then ran eight plays with just over two minutes left on the clock before quarterback Mitch Trubisky fumbled the ball on a fourth-and-long situation. Green Bay was then able to run out the clock for its first victory of the season. Throughout the second half the Bears had chances to be creative again with Trubisky under center, yet Nagy fell back on being more conservative. Throughout the second half, the Bears offense looked more like a unit trying not to lose rather than a team trying to get a win. One loss will not ultimately define the 2018 season for the Bears, but given all the promise the offense showed right off the bat, Chicago needs to be far more aggressive in Week 2, especially if it pulls out in the lead.
I want to apologize for my behavior on the game thread last night. I said some stupid things that I shouldn't have said. As far as the game itself, I have nothing more to say. As far as Nagy: open mouth, insert foot. I was ready to come to his defense for resting the starters in the third preseason game. I don't think that had anything to do with us blowing the game. But jeez, what an idiot he is to use that excuse after acting like the smartest guy in the room a few weeks ago.
