Philly has a good looking defense. If Wentz comes back playing good who can stop them? Maybe the Rams.
This is why the NFL is changed the rules to help the offense. We have people who turned the game off because it was a defensive struggle. At least both teams still had a chance to win until the last second ticked off the clock.
The NFL’s opening Thursday night game got disappointing TV ratings for a league that is battling perceptions of rapidly declining popularity. NBC announced a 13.4 overnight rating for the Super Bowl champion Eagles’ last-second win over the Falcons. That was way down from the 14.6 for Chiefs-Patriots last year, which itself was way down from a 16.5 for Panthers-Broncos the year before, which itself was way down from a 17.7 for Steelers-Patriots the year before that. Are there extenuating circumstances? Sure. Kickoff was delayed by almost an hour because of thunderstorms in Philadelphia, and the game was a sloppy, penalty-filled mess. But there are only so many times that the NFL can spin its ratings decline as being the result of extenuating circumstances. Whatever the reasons, the league’s television ratings are not the juggernaut they once were. The NFL still gets national television ratings that any other sport (or, for that matter, any entertainment program) would kill for, but it no longer gets the kinds of television ratings it got a few years back.
no wentz and no jeffery for the eagles. what's the falcon's excuse ? what did you expect from foles after that preseason ?
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...dly-miss-several-weeks-of-the-regular-season/ Wentz out till Oct now. Yikes. Last night was ugly but the Eagles won. They won't be so fortunate in the upcoming weeks with their schedule.
Falcons have no excuse. And Foles was lights out in the playoffs; just because he stunk it up in preseason is no excuse for crapping the bed here. Both teams committed double-digit penalties for over 100 yards each. Can't lay THAT on Foles. Take the W and be happy. Better to play sloppy and win than to play lights out and lose.
Well said. I agree. Got to remember last year when Wentz went down, not much faith/confidence in Foles, but history tells us a different story.
and they let you walk around in a cowboys jersey? check your coffee for a razor or someone may have slipped you a mickey. haha.
oh im happy. bummed wentz is out longer now than reported, but a W in conference is a win. now Tampa is without Justice, so a Win is possible there too as well as vs Indy.
in any company that i worked for that allows staff to wear jerseys, they would've politely harassed you for wearing a cowboys one. this is sports and you're wearing the eagles sworn enemy on their turf. much bigger than any movie about travel papers, music, cafes, and airports at the end of the movie. hahahhaha
