We are winning the peace prize for gently beating the Browns to oblivion.

 

It may not be into oblivion Gid. My pick for the game, which will probably earn me tons of grief.....

I just don't think they've had time to gel (anywhere on the field) yet and the emotion alone won't get them all the way to a win. It will be the first well played, solid game we've seen out of this team in over 2 years with a "we should have won that if......" feel to it.

Start throwing your tomatoes and cabbages..........

 

I'm thinking we'll see plenty of this this weekend!

Things looking good for a "Flash" sighting on Sunday...

 

Coach Hue Jackson named undrafted rookie Desmond Harrison the Browns' starting left tackle for Week 1 against the Steelers.

Harrison was signed out of West Georgia in April, so this is a major leap in competition for the rookie, who will see a lot of sophomore breakout candidate T.J. Watt on Sunday. The Browns were considering moving LG Joel Bitonio to left tackle, but decided to keep Bitonio in place. The Browns may have to give Harrison help in the form of TE Daniel Fells, but he did have a good summer.

Sounds like a perfect time to unleash the 3 headed monster in the backfield!!

 

• Gordan (the tropical storm, not the WR), will have a significant impact on this game by taking away some of the passing game from both teams. Advantage: Browns
• That leaves the running game. LeVeon Bell is AWOL. Pitt's b/u RB, Conner is pretty good. But not as good as Hyde, Johnson and Chubb operating as a RBC. Advantage: Browns
• Pittsburgh's O-line is very talented and has spent more time working as a unit. Advantage: Steelers
• Garrett and Ogbah give the Browns a better pass rush but that will be somewhat negated as the weather will dictate mostly running plays. Advantage: Push
• Cleveland's LB corp is probably just as talented as Pittsburgh's and maybe is a hair better dropping into coverage but, again, today the main focus will be against the run. Advantage: Push
• Again, Cleveland's defensive secondary is more individually talented but Pittsburgh's has more game reps operating as a unit. We're about to find out how Peppers does against the run. Advantage: Push
• As we found out last year, Special Teams may decide the winner of this game. Advantage: Steelers

I think, based on the above, this is going to be a low scoring nail biter. For once, there will be a home field advantage. Browns by 3 !!!
