Nicely put. And who can forget LeVeon and Dreads excellent adventure on the way to missing a plane to a game ....or was it Bell and Bong's Up in Smoke?

I actually got roped into an auction league with a few friends and 12 total guys ... I tried to snag Conner on the cheap but he went for 11 bucks (only 200 total to spend in an auction draft). Had ok draft despite technical difficulties with wireless causing some unintended players being drafted and missing out on a few wanted.

Back to Bell ~ I will have to check who got him and what they paid tomorrrow , can't recall right this second.

He’s a great player not denying that! He’s got some carries on him and his ypc WILL drop year to year (bank on it!) Imagine him with a poor offensive line. I sincerely believe his true assets now at his age are pass receiving and blocking. I will feel sorry for the team who gives him his payday!

PAYDAY is all this is about. Well Leveon, do whatever the hell you want. I don’t care if you dress at all this year and if you do, I hope your coach sits your ass on the bench. The Steelers should of never tagged you in the first place as I wished they dumped you in the beginning to save some cap money.

I get it why you are doing this. You are being evaluated at a time where the running back position is clearly underpaid. But please don’t hold the Steelers hostage because they made you a fair contract in two consecutive years! Fuck this franchise tag, if you don’t like it, then I wish the Steelers would of let you walk. This dumbass franchise tag will create distractions and I hold the FO accountable for pulling this crap again.

He needs to go immediately, because I feel his neglect for his teammates has and all year will be there in the locker room. At a minimal degree the players will decrease their performance on the field when Leveon is out there because it is human nature. I am certain they will play harder for Conner in lieu of Bell. The offensive line won’t even realize the drop off in most cases.

Get rid of him! Our current RB’s will give us the best chance for a 7th Lombardi!

    Take care,

    JMac

I like Juju but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Surprisingly, I sort of like JuJu’s celebrations. He still appears focused and that’s all that matters to me.....
Hope he doesn’t do something stupid though by crossing the line.
I wish I could control future millionaires!

Wow! Bell is upsetting his linemen. Dumb move.

    - So Bell is going to not make money now so he can make money later?

    - Maybe he's just trying to be all Albert Haynesworth at this point. Get a fat signing bonus; stop playing hard.

    - I don't see how holding out 2 seasons in a row helps Bell's market value. Dummy.

    - IF Bell returns, I expect a robust round of BOOS from Steeler Nation

What we are witnessing is the Steelers moving on. Just trade LVB and get something out of it, although he’s a top talent, you can maybe get a 3rd Rd pick. His jackassery has no limits.

  9. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

And just what makes you think he would report to a team that spent "only" a 3rd round pick on him?

Better yet . . . What team would spend ANY pick on a player that doesn't show up to work?

IMHO, He's burning 32 bridges all at the same time.

Don't know how much it's worth but when Bell was out in 2015 the Steelers averaged 31.5 points a game. If Conner is anywhere on the level that D Will was then I think the Steelers will be OK. With no offense to Lyman, I hope Conner puts up 150 with 2 TDs

You can't trade a guy that isn't under contract. Until he signs the tender that is not an option. And any team that signs him is prohibited from signing him long term so he will be a free agent in March regardless of where he plays. What kind of compensation could you get for a guy on a one year deal that he doesn't want to show up for for fear he will jeopardize his big day in free agency next year?

The best thing to do is what the Steelers are doing. Let him stay home if he wants. Each time he misses a week that's an additional 850k that will be added to the Steelers 2019 salary cap. When he comes back, even if it's Week 11 you will have a very motivated part-time player who can help you make a playoff run (hopefully). He will also provide insurance in the event another RB on the roster gets injured.

While I like that his teammates are calling him out I don't doubt they will welcome him back with open arms when he does report.

If this is a Khalil Mack reference it can't be compared. Mack was able to sign a new deal which was negotiated before the trade was consummated. Bell can't sign a new deal because that opportunity expired on July 16th.

Can't. Nobody wants to pay his franchise salary and they won't be able to negotiate a long term deal with him until next offseason. No team is touching that.

Exactly. Guys.................he CAN'T be traded at this point, not unless another team wants to pay him on the tag for this year, which would be laughable as the exclusive franchise tag usually starts with a couple of high picks. Nobody is going to cough that up for someone they can't lock up long term and will be a FA in February. The only option Pitt has is to rescind the tag and cut him. Colbert made it perfectly clear they have NO intention of doing that because then they would receive no draft compensation for him. Trade or extension options for both sides ended on July-16th. If Bell had ANY inclination of doing this, he and his agent should have been upfront about this and worked out a deal to send him elsewhere at that time, maybe a 2nd rounder or another good player. But once that period expires the two sides are locked in for this season.

I'm so tired of hearing pundits on TV/radio saying that Pitt, "should have paid the guy". THEY DID...........$12.2 million last year, and $14.5 million this year. The offers they made were fair both years. And both years he turned it down. In the two years he has played with the tag in Pitt (or is SCHEDULED to this season), he will have made 50% each year - total of $11 million more than the next highest paid at his position over that time - Freeman last year, and Gurley this year.

And had he signed two years ago coming off a serious knee injury and suspension and signed long term........it would NOT have been for an amount exceeding what he made these last two years. Even Gurley's most recent contract extension didn't have $27 million fully guaranteed. Bell isn't the first to play under the tag two straight years. He might be the first to pull this shit however.

Sitting out 5 of the 6 division games really sucks, but fresh legs for the stretch and playoffs.

I sure hope Old McDonald practices today

Angry, motivated linemen who want to prove Bell is a product of the offense.

Bell's stock could plummet pretty badly if James Conner lights up our September opponents.

I mentioned this months ago, if they make the playoffs do u trust Bell to play hard in the playoffs regardless if he comes back next week or after week 10? I didn’t months ago and trust him even less now.

If he comes back after week 10 I wouldn’t mind if Tomlin puts him on the inactive list for the remaining 6 games regardless of the condition the team’s record or playoff scenario is in
