In the same off season, Oakland essentially gave up a 3rd for absolutely nothing, then traded away Kalil Mack even though they should have had the money to pay him. The trade only becomes worth it if they hit on BOTH first rounders at minimum imo.
They also lost value on the Switzer deal. They traded a 4th to Dallas and swapped a fifth for a sixth to trade him to us. Gruden is making our mock drafters look like professional scouts. I’m seriously thinking Gruden should have kept his dumb ass in the booth.
Gruden is still angry about being fired by Oakland back in the early 2000s. They are paying him to sabotage the team from within
I kinda like Oakland in the Mack trade. (2) 1st rounders and then some. That's building material. Really hurts the short term, though. Also: over/under on Gruden's tenure is about 7 seasons.
The trade only becomes a good one if those two 1st rounders become, at least, solid players. If they become busts, it's a horrible trade for Oakland since they could have actually afforded to pay Mack
I agree I think he is overrated. Sure he won a SB in Tampa but they went downhill qucik and while Gruden supporters blame ownership the moves made in Oakland so far spell Gruden sucks.
He many not buy a house in Las Vegas but is it possible he would be willing to trade a #1 pick for what Le'Veon Bell's agent describes as a "once in a generation player"? https://steelersdepot.com/2018/09/b...is-client-will-remain-awol-for-quite-a-while/ It would be the third trade between the Steelers and Raiders in just 5 months. Sorry...just had to try it!
