The last time the Saints played the AFC-North, the Steelers were the only ones in the division to lose to the Saints

 

Ahhhhh. The good old days.

 

I hope that doesn't jinx the Saints.

In 2002, after the Saints had beaten both Bay teams, Bears, 49ers, Redskins and the Steelers, standing at 7-1, CBS Sports' Pete Prisco placed the Saints at #1 in his Power Rankings. From then on the Saints lost most their remaining games finishing 9-7 and missing the playoffs.

It was Prisco's fault

 

Actually, as odd as it seems, since the Browns' return to the NFL in 1999, they are 4-1-0 against the Saints (13-4-0 all time).

 

The Saints haven't done well with the old Browns (Ravens) either.....1-5.

Who could forget Tim Couch's hail mary to Kevin Johnson that beat the Saints in the dome, giving the 99 Browns their first victory?

 

The D slapped the ball up instead of down.

That was a forgettable year for us.

on the other hand, the Saints beat Dallas/Aikman with an unknown quarterback and Ditka got canned before the next season.

One Saints/Browns game that comes to mind for me was the 1987 home opener in which Pope John Paul II blessed the field before the game.

It was a crazy win for New Orleans, including 2 safeties.
