Bad Words. About a 40 year old 8th grade dropout who utilizes a loophole to enter a childrens' spelling bee. Dark humor but I got a few good chuckles out of it.
ADRIFT-true story about a couple who sail to Calfornia only to have tragedy happen. i smelt the ending and twist a mile away. way too easy to predict. crazy story, but solid. B+
I'd never even heard of it. Was sitting in my hotel room watching the end of We're The Millers for about the 10th time and this came on after. I'd watch it again.
yeah it didn't have a big fan fair when it came out. it was out for like 3 weeks. haha. many movies now even top ones are only in the theater for 3-4 weeks tops. when titanic came out...it was in theaters for 4 months and was #1 for 3 months. now movies don't last in theaters as the movie theater owners gotta make a profit with new movies. with Amazon Fire Stick and Nvidia Shield and other streaming devices, you don't need to house a movie for more than 2 weeks as most of America has seen it via at home and on their streaming device like i do. the last 6 movies i posted i saw were all on my streaming device, all at home. movie theaters also charge a ton for food and movies. for me to see a movie, it's $28. ticket is $13 and a middle popcorn and soda is the rest. unless it's an awesome movie - fuck that. i'll watch it at home.
Best scene is with the Baseball Furies. "I can't run anymore." "Good...I'm tired of running from these whimps." And then... "I'm gonna shove that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle." Ajax wasn't very smart...but he was a badass.
nothing. i just didn't know they were changing the sex of the captain. like changing spiderman to be spider-woman!
It’s not though because there were many different Captain Marvels in the comics and a few of them were women.
Without the threat of being caught and beaten by gang members, I'd LOVE to have that kind of all-night adventure in NY - running through parks, making a mad dash to catch the el train, walking through subway tunnels...
i did 2/3 in philly for the El and Subway and late happy hours and trying to catch a El or subway home. no running through the parks, but i did run from 22nd street to 15th to catch a train once.
The only gangs that really scared me were the Turnbull ACs and the Riffs. You can’t fight a bunch of crazy dudes piled up in buses....and there were like 10000 Riffs.
The Turnbulls on the bus were like some of the car crazies in the Mad Max movies. And yeah - WAY too many Riffs to deal with.
I've run to catch a train before - but I mean in dress shoes and carrying a brief case doesn't count!
my run was in the pouring rain after a christmas work party that ended up in some bar on 22nd street. no one knew it was raining and by midnight, all the cabs were taken, so i ran. and yes it counts. i ran through sidestreets and sidewalks like a running fool. it sucked and i was wet on the subway ride home.
