Think it depends on the team. I mean for the Steelers Bell is worth more than OBJ would be. But to a team like the Packers or Cowboys? OBJ would be worth more to them. Neither is worth $19 million though.
Adams and Cobb are still around... oh, yeah, and I've heard their new TE can catch too. What's that RBs name again?
Fuck if I know, and that was kind of my point. LVB would be a greater addition to the Pakcers than OBJ would. Odell has cooler hair though.
Packers RB's = Jamaal Williams, Ty Montgomery, Aaron Jones, Devante Mays, Joel Bouagnon, LeShun Daniels and Bronson Hill… according to the 'depth chart' on the Packers web-site.
Williams and Jones did pretty well last year, especially between the tackles and Montgomery is a receiving threat out of the backfield. It's a committee approach but it worked for them. Adams is good, if I remember right Cobb struggled to get on the field even with Jordy Nelson out...and with Aaron Rodgers losing his favorite target, I think he'd rather get a WR more than a RB, even Bell. I just felt the Packers would value a WR more given the decent talent at RB they had.
After missing preseason, Jordan Reed expected to play Week One... Washington tight end Jordan Reed has missed the entire preseason with a toe injury, but he should be on the field when the regular season starts. Head coach Jon Gruden described Reed as “getting there” and on pace to play on Sunday, September 9 against the Cardinals. When healthy, the 28-year-old Reed has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL. But Reed has missed 28 games in his five-year NFL career and played in only six games last year, finishing with a career-low 27 catches for 211 yards. If Reed is healthy this year, he’ll be a good target for quarterback Alex Smith. The two of them have been working together in training camp, and although Reed hasn’t been healthy enough for game action, he’ll be there when the real games start. (PFT)
Like many teams, the Falcons have announced that the starters will not play the final preseason game. That means Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman will enter the regular season not having played a single preseason snap even though both have been perfectly healthy. Interesting experiment by the coaching staff.
To a team like Dallas that is run-oriented, a Le'Veon Bell would be more valuable (assuming they didn't have Zeke, of course).
Specific players aside, I would think given today's more stringent rules on tackling, I would prefer a stud running back. We've already seen what rules changes have done for the passing game. I wouldn't be shocked to see a resurgance in running games. "When you throw the football, three things can happen and two of them are bad" ~ Woody Hayes
It is interesting, but understandable. Too many risk's for injury in the games. Im sure they are full participants in practice... they will or should be ready to go.
Blake Bortles provided free meals for first responders in Jacksonville... In a statement after Sunday’s mass shooting at a Madden tournament in Jacksonville, Jaguars owner Shad Khan said in a statement that residents of the city are “resilient, compassionate and remarkably supportive of our neighbors and friends.” One Jaguars player has been supportive of the first responders who have been in the area over the last two days. Through his foundation, quarterback Blake Bortles set up free meals at a restaurant near the site of the shooting. “Thank you for everything that you do! Your service today and everyday is greatly appreciated!” Bortles wrote in a note shared by Adam Schefter of ESPN. Jaguars coach Doug Marrone addressed the shooting as well as one at a high school football game last Friday night with his players. “He was sad for the city and that’s the same thing for everyone in the locker room,” wide receiver D.J. Chark said, via Jacksonville.com. “We all checked on each other to make sure everyone was OK and then we turned to the community.” (PFT) ______________ ____________________________ Blake rocks!
Well I was assuming they had Zeke, just like I’m assuming the Steelers have AB...was not taking salary cap into consideration either...
