I have the # 5 pick in a standard league and we start 2 RBs along with a flex position. I assume Bell, Elliot, Gurley, and David Johnson are going before me. At first thought Antonio Brown would be my pick but looking at the RBs that will probably be there in the second round, I am now leaning toward Barkley. Kamara is another choice but he is going to split carries with Mark Ingram after week 4. Who would be your pick at #5?
Kamara. He split touches last year and still was a top FF player. This year his touches will increase even when Ingram returns. Saints have a good OL and explosive offense. Giants offense should improve a lot this year, but will not be on par with the Saints. The Giants OL will hold the offense back and will effect the run game in a negative way.
I'm probably taking Kareem Hunt at that spot. I like the Chiefs to have enough explosive plays in the passing game that rushing lanes should be plentiful for Hunt. Last season he put up solid numbers with Alex Smith threatening defenses vertically more than he ever had in his career, but he does not possess the ability to kill a secondary with the deep ball like Patrick Mahomes does.
I like Kamara but even towards the end of last season he never ran the ball more that 12 times a game.
That was last year. This year the Saints were going to feature him even before Ingram suspension problem, or so I've heard and I believe it.
