It's gonna take some time, but I'm certain that when Mayfield developes into the starter and gets comfortable in the system, and gets some time to gain chemistry with his receivers, he will showcase his elite accuracy on a weekly basis.
That post was made while I had ten minutes in the office during an otherwise incredibly busy and stressful time in my life (the latter lending to my conduct, unfortunately). I have made long, detailed posts in the past, and was pointedly told that I was writing too much, and was an arrogant jerk for doing so and / while taking my position (paraphrasing, obviously). Being succinct doesn't seem to lead to different results. I'm not here to gain any respect, nor do I care to, especially considering that I don't think it'll be afforded to me regardless of my presentation. There are a number of homers here, yourself not excepted. We'll assume that our perspectives will differ, and naturally disagree on the nature of one another's opinions. You'll note that, multiple times, I've praised Mayfield as an accurate passer, and this discussion regarding his accuracy was in relation to other NFL passers and his expected performance in the preseason. You'll even note that I said I was surprised at his showings in the preseason, and said it was consistency and adjustment to NFL speed that he was falling short of. I'm fine with leaving this conversation as-is - I don't care to be right or wrong. However, I take exception to being misrepresented, especially when I make myself quite clear.
From one blowhard to another... I've also been told I write too much at times. Problem is, when you don't, it comes off as an attempt to pass something off as tangible proof and isn't. Without the "why", what's the point in a post to begin with. That's my rationale. For the record, I also understand stress and pushing that off on others on message boards where there isn't a lot of blow back to contend with in reality. I get it... won't hold it against you. I know there are plenty of posters who come in here, whether they have an opposing point of view or not, and have earned respect. Others have a history of just trying to come at posters for a debate and that isn't always welcomed. Self proclaimed homer, I wear it like a badge of honor, it isn't an insult like you mean for it to be. Our perspectives obviously differ. The difference between our two posts is that I am able to explain why some of yours were wrong. Others, I also acknowledged as being more accurate, but to post something with a timeline and expect it to be accepted without prejudice is pretty short sided. As for this discussion, for my part anyway, it was debunking your post on his performance to date. It wasn't accurate and just as you seem to feel the need to "call posters out", that is all I did. As for your discussion with TD, I think you could have taken his comments with a grain of salt instead of blowing him up as being insane for saying Baker Mayfield is one of the most accurate passers in the NFL, or will be, I honestly can't remember exactly how he put it before you put him on notice. If this were a general board, then I expect more fallout for statements being made...on a Team Specific fan board, it is almost expected to have statements like this, and truthfully, I don't think every little statement needs to be called out. This is what got you in trouble to begin with in our debate...You were NOT making yourself clear, and if you were, then you were flat out wrong. I gave my reasons why. You can dispute them specifically and we can break down the film even further than I already did. You DO care about being wrong, otherwise you would have just accepted that as fact and moved on, which you didn't. Either way...I look forward to a further debate on the game film if you care to indulge.
By the way.... Who ever said I was a co-commissioner. I went on the fantasy site and it says that I am not and that I cannot renew the league. Who ever is the commissioner will need to do it... For the record, I am in if we are still doing this, but it needs to be done soon. 2 weeks and 1 day until kickoff...
After a little more searching, it does list me as co-commissioner, but TD is the actual commissioner and I do not have the ability to renew the league, TD, you need to do this. It seems as simple as going into the site and hitting renew for 2018...
To my knowledge, I have never been commissioner of this league. lol! But I went to the site and attempted to renew it anyway, and it simply tells me what I already knew, that I am not the main commissioner of the league. If you look at the list of managers, it does list me as a commissioner (which surprised me), but Idk? It won't allow me any commissioner privileges...
Aha! After researching I found out something. I was made commish at some point during the season last year. Whoever was commish before that, is the one that has to renew according to error code #466 that I get whenever I attempt....It says the previous commish must renew the league.
Good question... We could do that, but then we would lose all the history of the league that goes with renewal. Depends on how important this is to everyone, I guess.
You're going to lose it anyway if you can't get it organized and have your draft pretty soon. And, if I recall, you have to draft on dates and time slots that are available on Yahoo.
Yes, true... We need to figure this out, like, today... @Duff_Beer_Doug can you renew the league? If not, I will just take it over and start over.
@IrishDawg42 I wasn't even in the league last year. Not sure I have any control over it. PM me a link to the league page and I'll try logging in.
It may be a moot point...I just went into my Yahoo fantasy page and Kennel Klub is no longer listed like it was yesterday. TD, did you delete the league?
Yeah, apparently when you left, you made @TopDawg and myself commissioners, but neither of us have any power over the website. That remained with you because you created it. I don't have a link any more though apparently. Not sure what happened to it, lol. It was there yesterday.
