Current hockey is not gorilla hockey. There is only one true enforcer left in the game. Your assessment and Lindros(issy's) is gay.

 

Sorry, but I don't see the sport being overly physical, in regards to head contact. If they really want to try and prevent head trauma, I might suggest better / more regulated head protection. But as it is, I think the NHL is at the forefront of taking head trauma seriously, and treating it in a way that simultaneously doesn't ruin the game. I don't see any reason for more drastic changes.

 

red - after the nfl keeps changing their rules of tackling and leading with the helmet, don't you think bettman will look into the hitting? blindside hits, hits from the side, etc ? lindros is trying to rewrite the entire rulebook for the nhl. that's a little crazy, but to look out for the safety of the players is not a bad thing. athletes today are faster and bigger than before. gotta have ways to protect them besides suspensions, penalty boxes, fines and current equipment. i don't fault Eric for his crusade. im shocked someone didn't try it earlier. i do think change is coming at some point.

 

What is really funny about Lindros(issy) and one of his concussions. It happened in the locker room. After he was caught banging Brind'amour's wife, he was pummeled by an unknown player (probably Tocchet).

 

that's an old rumor. no idea if it was true. lindros always speaks highly of brind'amour so if there was bad blood between them, i wouldn't seem it on the surface.

 

i take back my comment of "gorilla hockey." it's far better and safe now than in 1970.

red - the 1 thing 1 thing that was missed was Lindros said Youth Hockey and Leagues that are non-professional to not have contact, not the NHL. So we got in a big uproar over nothing.

 

O'Rielly was one of my all-time favs.

 

and a NCAA Champ too. I just read a quick thing on Wikipedia about him. He kind of did it to himself. He made $15 mil in his career and now is homeless. crazy.

 

He has some mental issues, everyone said it back then on the rangers.

 

they gave him a tryout and he went to play for boston instead and didn't even give NY a chance to sign him. kind of dicked them over.

 

He accused them of sawing off parts of his sticks and throwing his skate in the river.

I tried to get them but I don’t think they have videos of the last time the Leafs played in the Cup.
