Of course you move on. You just don't discard him for nothing when there is literally ZERO risk in keeping him. It's terrible roster management. Put him on the field and hope he excels. It's no wonder KC dumped Dorsey.

 

Of course that's it but he's a 1st round talent and you don't give him away before you even let the guy line up for a preseason game. For the first time since the kid has arrived at Cleveland he has not one, but two really good QBs to help him make plays. Show a little patience (like they are doing with Callaway) and give him an opportunity to increase his trade value in between the lines. There is just no justification for giving him away for basically a ham sandwich when you have 4 meaningless games in which to evaluate him and get more info. It's a 90 man roster for a reason. Dumb.

If you want to see a good move in a very similar situation look to the Colts. Philip Dorsett, 3rd year 1st round WR who was clearly not going to be on the roster after his 3rd training camp...

Showed a little patience and right before the final cutdown traded him for a QB who would go on to start 15 games for them and will serve as a solid backup in 2018.

The first episode showed Jarvis Landry chewing out the receivers room about being lazy and not practicing the way they should be. The next episode shows Corey Coleman STILL practicing at a low level, which was obviously having an effect on the younger guys, hence the Landry outburst. As soon as Coleman is demoted, his attitude gets even worse, if that is possible...so they make phone calls. Do you really believe there was another, higher, offer that they passed on? The point is, if he is effecting an entire position room, he needs to be gone, the sooner the better. At the point you realize that, you move him for WHAT EVER offer is on the table...or you cut him if there isn't one. Well, they were lucky to get ANY offer, so they took it. The fact he was drafted in the first round means NOTHING.

Regardless of whether beachbum thinks he is the second coming of Steve Smith (the good one) or not. He wasn't and I tried to tell you that from the beginning.

Dez Bryant arrives in Cleveland “trying to work some things out” with Browns...

Dez Bryant arrived in Cleveland on Thursday saying all the right things.

He crashed the team’s radio broadcast, saying he likes the city and would look good in orange, which he wore in college at Oklahoma State.

“We’re just trying to work some things out,” Bryant told Nathan Zegura, via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com.

The star receiver has his agent, Kim Miale, with him. He has said he is seeking a one-year, prove-it deal with a contender.

Bryant, 29, turned down a three-year, $21 million offer from the Ravens, which is his only known offer thus far. The Cowboys released him April 14.

Cleveland still has almost $53 million in cap space, the most in the NFL, via Cabot.

The Browns still expect Josh Gordon back at some point after he handles his personal issues. They also have Jarvis Landry and Antonio Callaway. So will they have enough footballs to go around if they add Bryant? (PFT)
