  2. I live out of the Pittsburgh market these days so I catch the action with Mike Lange and Phil Bourque on either online radio or through the NHL app.

And if the game is on national TV, I still sync it up with their commentary too.

NBC committed the cardinal sin of hosting an all canadian matchup, looks like it's heading that way.

NBC doing 109 regular season games this year, all over the map. They'll be in vegas, arizona, calgary, winnipeg and nashville. They're doing doubleheaders and venturing away from their typical northeast matchups.

im happy they're expanding their coverage to other markets who don't have a big tv deal like the flyers and comast. im spoiled so i never miss a game. i know some teams, fans and cities aren't so lucky.

agreed skinny. once ESPN pulled out and NBC whimpered in, they should've televised as many games and in as many markets as possible. broadcasting the philly-pens game is great but both cities have solid tv deals. get the Jets on tv or Stars, Panthers, Sabres or Canes etc. reach markets that don't have a lot of games televised. help them out with free tv exposure.

the cnbc crew needs new blood in there. milbury, jones, roenick are awful. not a fan of doc emrick since 1985. the golf channel has all these hot girls on there analyzing their sport. doesn't hockey have a cute broadcaster or color commentator? i mean mike milbury ? roenick may be a walking CTE case. his face looks like Rocky Balboa's after the first fight with Clubber Lang. Jones is just a tool.

I like Doc for his multitude of pants-soiling calls. It’s funny. Keep Regis too. What in the hell would that guy do if he wasn’t behind the fucking glass? All the others can fuck off.

    I miss hockey.

ever since Doc left the Flyers for the Devils in the 80's he hates the Flyers. His broadcasts are 1 sided against them every time and if it's Pitt-Philly, he is clearly excited and pulling for the Penguins. So much for being a fair and impartial announcer?

I can’t even imagine a world that favors Philly teams in any capacity. That would be some David Lynch type alternate reality. The fan base made it this way, so wear it with pride.

halo -bf your team tanked to get mario your team was a boil on the buttocks of the world ! the fanbase? the fucking eagles fans are savage animals and you take shots at the flyers fanbase. know this halo - when mario came back from cancer and scored, it was the FLYERS FANS that gave him a standing ovation. so go suck that up your nose and kick back and chill for 3 hrs.

Now look at the Penz... Fiiiiiiiiive fucking riiiiiiiiiinnnnngs! (Hope you sang that like the Xmas song when you read it).

The Pittsburgh fan base is rabid but not considered “dangerous”. Philly has had the misfortune of media hype to propel their disposition, but I remember Dave Parker talking about games at the Vet and he said mofos were throwing batteries at him when he trying to field a ball. Then the media latched onto the Santa Claus thing (legit or hyper-inflated, doesn’t matter) and that more or less sealed the deal on the fan base. Having your hockey team being openly and proudly referred to as “bullies” didn’t help matters either. I don’t hate Philly. If their teams were historically better than mine then I’d have something to bitch about, but I’ve got a dozen championships from Pittsburgh’s sports teams in my lifetime to make whatever shit talkin’ slide right off. Like an election cycle, Pittsburgh wins something every 4 years on average.

Philly borrowed pitts hockey team for one year, changed the name to quakers, and went 4-36.

We (Pittsburgh fans) don’t talk about that. It’s like letting your kid drive the car... and he parks it in someone’s living room.

They even had Syd Howe (hall of fame circa 1965), a cross between gordie and sid the kid. Wow, no wonder they didn't sniff hockey for another 37 years.
