Welcome to the 10th Annual Pick' Ems Contest!!

This is a pretty big deal ... 10 years in!! LnC and I started this contest over on CBC 10 seasons ago and it's been a lot of fun every year! The numbers of our participants has gone up and down but the one constant is everyone has fun. We encourage 'friendly' trash talk and we definitely see a lot of challenge!

So is it too early to start talking about the Pick 'Em contest?

The 1st day of the season is on September 6th according to my research ...

Last season we had some mixed reactions to the new rules we tried. I'm interested in everyone's input about the rules for this season in order to make a decision before we start. I'm leaning towards bringing the contest back to a simpler time where we just pick teams. Does anyone have an opinion about this? @SoCalSaint?

I'm going to start advertizing for the contest soon so if you know anyone who would like to play in a friendly contest please invite them! It would be fun to see some new faces as well as returning faces

I agree with you. I think in the past I was trying to make it more fun and challenging but it kind of backfired on me last season. I'm interested in hearing what others think of this too.

 

I didn't notice a 'backfire' last year... I think this contest is great and im looking forward to it this year.

Another thing too ... a simpler contest means less work for me, which is a big plus. I do the leader boards on Tuesday mornings but I teach Tai Chi at 10 so I'm usually doing them by 7 am or so. If I run into a snag things get late and I can't miss class since I'm the instructor so ...

I like the idea of dropping the SB pick and other rules this season. We can always compare it to last season and see if it flows better.

I was told the same thing from another member recently (he was/is mad at me) and I thought it was a pretty pathetic statement to make. Considering the hundreds of hours I have put into making this contest a fun contest ... anyone who thinks it's rigged obviously has an agenda.
