Where Do We Go From Here?

I absolutely believe Lincoln Riley will be high on our list if Hue messes this up...No doubt about it.

Problem is, they didn't commit to it the right way.

    From the article...
It was the way to do it. When you field a crap football team for 14 of the past 16 seasons, you've got to do something radical for impact change. There were misses - as there would be for anyone - but overall, the team is structured now to have a *TON* of success.

What they needed to do was level with fans. You can't have your head coach talking about how he's working the hardest he's ever done to find a win... only to let the crap go down on Sundays that we saw routinely. Discount merch, tickets, concessions - take the loss financial, but show the fans, "Yes... this is going to be painful, but we're committed to doing this and doing right by you."

Bro... did you even read the article?

(Trick question, I know. You can't read.)

Presumably, you use the article you linked us to support this notion. From the article...
But not even a full two paragraphs later, the article states:
    Pathetic.

I think the Browns are built to win now, and we are still about $70m under the cap. So I agree with ya SAS, this Browns team does appear to be set up for a ton of success. Much rides on the shoulders of #6....If he is what I think he is, than yes, the last couple seasons were worth it. I mean, if we got the next "Joe Montana", and he leads us to a trophy case full of Lombardi's, I'm not going to care about the 2016-17 Browns, and what we had to endure. It will have been WELL worth it. To be honest, it wasn't that much different than what we've been through all along since 99...I still truly believe Josh McCown or some other average NFL QB could have won 6 or 7 games with this team last year.

I thought someone might point out he played only part of a season so did Grappolo and yet he came in ranked at number 10.

Not beating a dead horse, but saying Watson caught a "sh!t load of breaks" is the understatement of the century of the week. Was he exciting and make plays happen? Of course, no denying. I forget which game but he had 3 INTs that were dropped that were such awful throws it made Neil Odonnel in the Super Bowl look like ...crap..who's the most accurate passer of all time?

His ball placement is erratic when he does get it to his receivers. He definitely has some growing to do. You saw it a lot on his deep balls in college, he has plenty of arm to get it there but he puts too much air under it and was bailed out by wr making good reads on the ball and corners being torched and focusing more on playing catch up then getting their heads around.

But Hopkins is great at those catches. So the heaving it downfield is probably just part of the plan.

After thinking about it some, I really believe you guys need to dump Hue Jackson, he is just an extension of Marvin Lewis. If you guys want to be a one and done playoff team then by all means keep him. I thought that your ownership would be much improved because he worked with the Steelers brass, but apparently jack shit didn’t rub off on him. That is why I have a feeling that the Panthers are going to suck this season.

19 passing touchdowns in first 7 games an nfl record
First rookie with 4 straight games with at least 3 passing touchdowns
First player in the Super Bowl era with at least 400 passing yards, four passing touchdowns and 50 rushing yards in the same game.

He has plenty of upside and is better than Brissett, McCown, and Bortles despite what PFF would have you believe.

  12. Honestly win now? Mayfield hasn’t taken a snap or from all the talk isn’t even close

    He doesn't have to.

@Tim made it crystal clear in his site-wide email that we're not allowed to call you names. So, you now have carte blanche to continue on as the fine upstanding member you have demonstrated yourself to be in the past. Knock yourself out.

Mayfield doesn't need to see the field in order for the Browns to show improvement this season, and they will win some games this year, so I fail to see how TD was incorrect in his assessment.

  15. Cause if Mayfield is the future how do u effectively win now if he’s not the QB...there will always be doubt until he becomes the guy

Right, but what TD said is not out of line or out of the realm of possibility. He stated that he is optimistic about what Mayfield may become because the Browns are built to win games now.

They will win some games this season and may win more the following if Baker pans out.

Some pretty basic math on that one.

  17. I don’t remember him addressing me in particular...you can’t call ANYONE names

  18. Well Tim they can only go up in wins so not hard to predict...1 win is an improvement

  19. Campbell Administrator Manager Commissioner

    He didn't make a prediction.

He made a statement about the current state of the roster being ready to win games this season, and he's not wrong.
