Just a follow up...

Actually Spencer Drango took over for Joe Thomas last year. But that was just a stop gap to get others prepared to playing the NFL. The Ironman was expected to stay just that last year and the team was ill prepared. They obviously stepped up Shon Coleman's preparation as well as drafting Austin Corbett to compete for that position. Joel Bitonio is one of the highest rated guards in the entire NFL and he will remain at that position. He did not work out at LT in OTAs or minicamp.

 

Always liked Murray. Had a rep (deservedly so) of being injury-prone coming out of Oklahoma, but he's been pretty durable the last five years. Think he'll make a good back-up for someone.

 

Would like to learn more, but this is a bad look.

 

NFLPA files grievance over NFL’s new anthem policy

The players’ union is pushing back against the NFL’s decision to require players either to stand for the national anthem or to stay in the locker room while the anthem is being played.

The league, which changed its policy this offseason in response to criticism of players kneeling on the field, is now facing a grievance from the NFL Players’ Association.

“Our union filed its non-injury grievance today on behalf of all players challenging the NFL’s recently imposed anthem policy,” the NFLPA said in a statement. “The union’s claim is that this new policy, imposed by the NFL’s governing body without consultation with the NFLPA, is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement and infringes on player rights. In advance of our filing today, we proposed to the NFL to begin confidential discussions with the NFLPA Executive Committee to find a solution to this issue instead of immediately proceeding with litigation. The NFL has agreed to proceed with those discussions and we look forward to starting them soon.”

Although the league portrayed its new policy as a compromise, the reality is it hasn’t satisfied anyone. Players are angry that the league is imposing a new rule on them, and President Trump has said the new rule is worse. Now the union will try to force the league to change this policy. (PFT)

 

Should’ve posted the article I found that information. Sorry about the misinformation about Drango. It also said Bitonio would be the if all else fails he’ll get a look. Strange though, it also said Hubbard had no chance as he is locked into the RG position. Anyways, that’s not a position a team wants in flux. Hope the competition works itself out

 

No big deal SK, I was just following up on it. They have already stated publicly though that Bitonio is their starting LG and will remain in that capacity barring an emergency. Hubbard was signed as a RT and will remain there...but right now, I would say it's Coleman's job to lose unless Corbett just comes in and plays so well that they he takes the job. I don't know enough about Corbett to know if he is capable of doing that...but the Browns obviously thought highly of him to spend such a high pick on him.

 

I don't understand what the issue is.. The league basically states with this - We will not force you to stand for the National Anthem, but at your place of employment you will do so out of the public eye. By not being there, it more or less serves the same purpose, you just aren't a public spectacle. I don't see where they will win this grievance, unless the league simply decides to change it on their own to better compromise with the players. I don't see any governing body that will force the NFL to give players a public forum in the workplace for making political statements though.

 

Woman who posted accusation against LeSean McCoy says she stands by it

The woman whose Instagram post accusing Bills running back LeSean McCoy of domestic violence says she stands by that post, even though she removed it from social media.

The woman has been described as a friend of Delicia Cordon, McCoy’s longtime girlfriend, and she posted a photo of Cordon with graphic facial injuries, along with a message saying McCoy is responsible for the injuries. Hours after that post, the woman removed the post and set her Instagram account to private, but she then went back on Instagram and wrote that she stands by what she said.

“Delicia’s lawyer forced me to remove that post,” the woman wrote. “I stand by what I said. I’ve personally addressed LeSean McCoy on everything that was stated many many times over the years. Lie to these people if you want Shady, but you know I know everything.”

Police in Milton, Georgia, where McCoy owns a home, have confirmed that a man invaded a woman’s home and attacked her, but police have not identified that man or given any indication of whether McCoy was involved in the incident. McCoy denied the accusations.

 

LeSean McCoy case takes another strange turn

It’s possibly true that, as Bills running back LeSean McCoy contends, he has had no direct involvement with girlfriend Delicia Cordon for months. That may not be enough to keep him out of trouble for the graphic injuries Cordon recently sustained.

Via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, Cordon’s lawyers say that she was the victim of the invasion of a home owned by McCoy in Georgia, and that the thief stole jewelry from Cordon.

“The assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been previously gifted to Ms. Cordon by Mr. McCoy, which Mr. McCoy had requested back on many occasions,” the statement from the attorney explains. “In fact, after Ms. Cordon refused to return her jewelry gifts to Mr. McCoy, he would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.”

Although the statement apparently doesn’t come out and say it, the implication is inescapable: The lawyer believes McCoy orchestrated the invasion of his home and the ensuing robbery of and attack on Cordon.

If that’s true, McCoy likely has played his last down of NFL football. (PFT)

Richie Incognito claims to know the “whole story” regarding LeSean McCoy

The Bills, the NFL, and authorities in Georgia currently have begun the process of piecing together the events leading to the vicious beating of Delicia Cordon, and whether Bills running back LeSean McCoy had any responsibility for it. They probably should speak to former Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito.

“I support and stand by my boy, Shady,” Incognito said Tuesday night on Twitter. “I know the full story and he didn’t do it. People can be quick to make false assumptions without knowing the full story.”

In a separate tweet, Incognito said of Cordon, “Enough with this fake lifestyle she was living.”

It’s unclear whether Incognito is simply claiming that McCoy didn’t personally assault Cordon or whether Incognito knows (or thinks he knows) with certainty that McCoy had no involvement with it.

“She was definitely assaulted,” Incognito tweeted. “Police were involved. Shady was in Florida and she was in Atlanta.”

But no one seems to be saying (at this point) that McCoy actually performed the assault. The question is whether (as strongly implied by Cordon’s lawyers) McCoy essentially played the Rae Carruth/Jeff Gillooly role, pulling the strings and/or pushing the buttons (and/or paying the money) necessary to get someone to invade the house McCoy owns, retrieve specific items of jewelry that McCoy had given to Cordon, and send a message in extreme physical fashion.

If there’s any truth to the not-so-subtle allegation made by Cordon’s lawyers, it’s entirely possible that a Fargo-style scenario played out here, with the brutal assault of Cordon not part of the plan but something that just happened in the moment. That definitely wouldn’t insulate McCoy from scrutiny by the league or the law, but at this point no possibility should be ruled out.

And the Bills, the league, and the authorities may want to get in touch with Incognito, if for no reason other than to find out whether he has communicated in the past day with McCoy (especially by text), and what McCoy specifically had to say. (PFT)
