I didn't realize you wrote the rules on how to conduct yourself on a message board. I'm gonna PM you first next time to consult on how I should reply to things. Thanks.
I just can't get off this point.... If I were a Bears fan, which I admittedly am not, my NFC team has been the Packers since 1995 when the Browns announced they were leaving, I would HAVE to be excited over the fact I have a second year QB that I had taken #1 overall the year prior. I would be looking for any information I could find on, if he's looks improved over his rookie year, if we have taken any steps to help the weapons around him, if the coaching staff is going to be a help or hindrance. There are endless things to discuss on the Bears right now. Now, I do realize you don't have any weapons like Josh Gordon on your roster, but make due with what you got man... If I'm being serious for a second... I am silently very excited over Josh Gordon. He has let us down so much in the past that I am having a hard time believing it will be a sustained excitement. He is a specimen at the wide receiver position though. He would have been the top receiver in his class had he not gone in the supplemental...and he would have garnered a high first rounder had he not had the issues that caused him to be a supplemental pick. Most importantly, he had a 14 game string put together to show what he is capable of doing and did it with average QBs at best, most would agree below average. I understand that it was only one year, but it was the only year he has had enough games to even get into game form, the longest season besides that one was his rookie year where he had over 800 yards and 5 TDs as a rookie. The following year, his second in the league, he led the league in yards and nearly doubled his TD output. Now, there have been 4 seasons since that breakout, but he also hasn't put any wear on his body. He hasn't been missing because of a string of injuries, he is, by all accounts, in the best shape of his life and looks ready to re-emerge into the type of receiver we saw in his second year in the league. If he continues to grow as a receiver, and gets above average QB play...well, NOW you should be able to understand why so many are excited.
This is the Browns football talk board...I think you are looking for the S & M workshop in some other part of the website. Try using the search feature.
I can only speak for one Bears fan. And if trolling far harder and funnier than you do makes me trash....then yes.
You guys read as well as your team plays football. Not a compliment, by the way. I shouldn't need to clarify that but it felt necessary given the discourse here.
I have no idea what one has to do with the other. It's the offseason. Literally nothing is happening. Just because we're not out in force flapping our gums doesn't mean we think the team is perfect - I have no idea how one correlates to the other... Discuss what? Nothing is happening - absolutely nothing. The Bears board has discussed the new coaching staff, new personnel, and schedule. There's nothing else to discuss. Until something noteworthy happens, or until the season starts, we'll wait. We've got a lot of knowledgeable fans on the Bears board, here - which means that we're all pretty up to speed on what personnel is where, what to expect from them, etc., and we're not going to start spouting off homer nonsense at every turn. Speculating gets... tiresome, sometimes. Why in the hell not? You'd have a lot fewer outside fans and a lot better discussion here if you all started calling each other out on each other's bullshit. That's what good fans do, to my mind. But, ah well...
