Oh, well - Gidion, there's the bet. If AB starts 2 games, avatar on the line. Sounds like a pretty good offer.
What else do you want me to quote? His exact post is below. I'm not here to trick anyone (though over-exuberant Steelers and Browns fans are a riot).
Oh, you were being serious... Well there is the beginning of his quote: Which was in reference to: If you can't read all the posts involved dline, don't play the game...
First, the attitude isn't warranted, so let's take a step back. Second, he jumped on an exuberant post by Gidion, trying to bait him into a bet. And then all I did was point to his exact words. I thought it was funny. He wants to word it better? Well, then maybe all parties deserve a chance to come to an agreement...
First, you sure ask Browns fans on a Browns thread to take a step back a lot... You EXPECT attitude because you come from the Bears board...while we're on the subject, when was the last time you posted to your own fan board? You sure come to the Browns A LOT...closet Browns fan perhaps? Second, Gidion did what Gid does, he posted something that got a reaction/conversation going. And THEN, all you did was cut his post in half and only post something, which I thought was in jest, to get Gid going again. Which brings me back to my original thought. You don't read everything and piece it all together. This wasn't a post, it was a conversation. Gidion posted the accolades he feels AB will get to if a) Ben is on point and b) AB starts both games...This is where it stems from. You can't leave out the most important points and throw your own take on a half of a post. This whole conversation was funny and entertaining until you start taking things personal and ask someone to take a step back. Now it's just boring. Being correct, doesn't necessarily mean attitude...food for thought
Oh, fuck, Irish. There's so much wrong in there, I don't even know where to start. I'll just leave it at this: I have made it very clear on numerous occasions here that I am a big Browns supporter, and follow the team very closely. I am always rooting for them as a second to Chicago. I have always come here in the same spirit and demeanor that I would anywhere else. My interactions with the fans, however, are dictated by the individuals themselves. I was having a good time, too.
If we're talking bets we should just keep it simple. I''m predicting the Steelers win Week 1. It's clear there are numerous people in here that feel differently. How about a standard two week avatar bet. Any takers?
Is this the same Rich Freaking Gannon who was a 2 time all-pro and league MVP at this time??? Not sure even Ben has reached those lofty accolades.
Yes, it is.... The rest of the story.... Tim Brown was one of the top receivers in the league for years prior to Gannon arriving in 1999 Jerry Rice was THE TOP receiver in the game for years prior to joining Brown and Gannon in 2001 Rich Gannon...well he couldn't hold a starting position (Minnesota gave him 3 tries and KC gave him 2 extended tries) before hooking up with Tim in Oakland. That was 12 years in the league, before landing in the perfect situation in Oakland. He wasn't the creator, he was the beneficiary.
That team was sickening it was soo good. You had Rice and Brown with Jerry Porter in the slot and Charlie Garner in the backfield. off the top of my head one year you have Rice and Brown both over 100, Porter at 70ish, and Garner at 95 (receptions).
My point is... He wasn't a bum... You don't become All-Pro if you aren't a good/great QB during that time. Who was Kurt Warner his first 8 years? He was just put in bad situations, like Rich Gannon.
No... he was cut and playing in NFL Europe, then the Arena league. Then finally came back to the NFL after being a stocker in a local grocery store.
What part about me saying when Ben is on? Ben is never on to start the season. Game 8 I would expect Ben to be on. Although I believe Ben is feeling the heat because of Mason Rudolph,so he might actually start better this season than in the past. Rules of engagement Ben and Brown have to play both games for the Steelers and Ward has to play both for the Browns, he is the one who they think is going to shut him down. 300 yards is probably a given. 5 TDs could be a little harder to get. But 300/5 AV bet from Monday after the SB till the NFL draft. I want to watch the Steelers win the SB with my Tomlin AV.
