When you're 6 mins in on a 4 min extra injury time, 10/10 refs wouldn't have even allowed the game to go that far.
There can be extra time added to extra time. You often see a player fall to the ground for over a full minute just after the 90th minute and then the same team complains when the whistle hasn't blown once the Extra Time is over. Well another couple minutes need to be added for time-wasting. Plus attacks are almost always allowed to be completed as long as they are pressing.
Of course, that's how it's done, but I count how long the time stops and a lot of times the refs play longer.
They won't stop the game when a team is pressing, even though time has run out. It's the only sport that allows this.
Holy fuck has the ref lost control of this match. I've missed handfuls of minutes here and there, but for almost every second that I've watched, someone is whining and complaining, while the players are shoving each other and trying to draw penalties. Now they've gone and gotten themselves cards, screwing them for the next round. Meanwhile, the ref isn't actually contributing to stopping any of it. What a shame.

I watched the second half, OT's and shootout. The ref is from the USA and he was awful at controlling the match. Colombia are some serious whining lil' boys. Hope the two that lost it for them don't get killed next week.
