Im very excited about the potential this has. could be a very heavy and very rusty anchor for the Pens roster going forward.
JMFJ had 11 points in 77 games last season. heard he has nice parents though.

Reportedly only $16 over 5 on the Jack Johnson deal. Disappointingly low amount.

^^best news I’ve heard on the JJ deal.

Montreal traded Simon Bourque, D prospect, to Winnipeg. The Jets dump off flotsam (Mason, Armia*, and picks) to clear about $4MM. Looks like Stastny will stay a Jet.

I have a personal anecdote about former Sabres first round pick * Joel Armia. I happened to be in an AHL city when the Amerks were visiting and staying in the same hotel. I got friendly with several players & staff while there. I asked a question of one of the team leaders: "does Armia sometimes take a shift off?" (It was based on watching him play the night before.) The response was telling: "is it that obvious?"

Armia has never fulfilled his potential because I think he's lazy and self-absorbed. I was pleased when he was dumped on the Jets in the EK trade.

BTW, I think the Habs will flip Mason. Maybe to the Islanders.

BUF gets 1st in 19, 2nd in 21, Tage Thompson, Vladimir Sobotka,Patrick Betglund for Ryan O’Reilly. No salary retained. STL pays ROR signing bonus.

This is a very good move by Buffalo. Wait. What did I just say.

Tage Thompson has a high ceiling. Seen as a kid that takes too many shifts off but I think he improved dramatically at UConn. Real tall with long reach. Sobotka and Berglund should help right away.

Good score for Buffalo in the long run. I like ROR but the Blues paid up. Tarasenko probably happy about this.

Thinking the same thing. Probably worse for this season but improved overall moving forward.

I really like the move for Buffalo. Tage Thompson is a big kid that may find a role. Sobotka and Berglund are assets. Couple of picks to boost.

Having three firsts in a strong 2019 draft is obviously a good thing.

    Like Thompson. Of course.

Don't mind the two guys that are really salary dumps. Secondary scoring should not be the huge problem it was last year. Primary scoring? Well, we'll have to hope for the best from Mitts, that Reinhart's second half of last season is what we get all season, and that Okposa has a bounce back from his near death experience.

The only reason for optimism for this season is based on having worserer teams in the same division. I like it because I think Botterill's vision is coming into focus.

I really hope you break out next year for 85 points.
I really hope the nucks suck worse than Ottawa or at least win a god damned ping-pong game.

I think this comment sums up this deal as well as any I've seen. Accordingly, I have tempered my expectations for the Sabres next season - 82 down from 85 points.

But they may be ready to compete for the playoffs in 2019-20.

The sabres have to get the picks right. I like what the blues did yesterday, they're a playoff team this year for sure. Bozak, Perron and ROR.

  20. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

theyre definitely pushing their chips in.
C- Schenn, ROR, Bozak is pretty solid. Tarasenko is a stud, Schwarz and Perron have the capability to have big seasons.
Solid D with Pietrangelo, PArayko, Bouwmeester, Gunnarson
lots of weight on Jake Allen's shoulders, im not sold on him. Chad Johnson could possibly steal that job but im sure thats not what the organization wants.
