It appears the Boston Bruins and Chris Wagner are closing in on a two-year deal.

The deal is reportedly worth $1.25 million per year. Wagner finished third in the NHL last season with 253 hits. His ability to play center or the wing makes him a versatile bottom-six forward option. The 27-year-old forward also chipped in for seven goals and 16 points in 79 games with the New York Islanders and Anaheim Ducks last season.

 

JT gives up that 8th year, you have think that he's cut bait with the isles. Speculation has him coming to the leafs.

 

I wonder why its such a tough decision and why its taking such a secretive approach? The suspense is killing me. (not really)

At any rate, there are a few FA's probably still going to be up in the air until JT makes up his freekin' mind.

 

If JT to Toronto happens, what do you think that means for Marner and Nylander?

 

Why did the Bruins give Chris Wagner that money and not Tim Schaller? Head scratcher.

 

Is Tim Schaller a checker/hitter? Maybe Wagner won out because of grit?

 

I didn't hear any reports about Tim. I thought he had solidified himself as a solid and cheap bottom six guy. Wassup?

 

I think one of them ends up getting traded for a defenseman, probably a young guy that won't take up much cap space.

 

Ya Schaller was a good reliable 4th line/pk guy that had wheels. he slid up the lineup every now and again if there were injuries but was really a constant contributor at the bottom.
Seems like thats the hope for Wagner, we'll see. maybe Schaller is looking for more? I doubt that though.
