I fixed my quote after I noticed you edited your post. That was my mistake.

Science is not wrong "99.9% of the time". That's crap. It's an ignorant, unfounded statement that you couldn't back up with facts if you tried.

Thank you for pointing out a hypothesis isn't a fact but I was present in third grade when we were taught that too.

The fact that people like the Wright brothers failed a ton of times before they succeeded is proof of why science works...not why it doesn't. Fail...change it...and try again. Until you get it right. That's proof of man's ingenuity and a testament to the persistence of genius.

How you see that as a negative is beyond me. When you fail at something in life...do you just give up and never try again?

Weather isn't wrong "all the time"....it just isn't exact all the time.

And yes medicine and science were evolving when they bled people....we eventually learned that was wrong.

There is a such thing as good cholesterol as well as bad. But it shouldn't be labeled as good and bad....it's simply LDL and HDL. Low density...bad. High density...good. Truth is neither is good or bad...both just make up your total cholesterol. Cholesterol isn't a bad thing....it's something your body needs. In the right levels.

Science doesn't push crap on people. People use science to try to make money and take advantage of trends and crap.

Someone pushing a pill and telling someone else they will lose weight or suddenly be smarter isn't a scientist. Just like people in the old west selling tonics off the back of wagon weren't.

You're blending things together to try and prove an overall point and you're failing.

And thanks for finally admitted you're ignorant. That's helpful. The first step is admitting to a problem. The second step is working to fix it.

How do you learn something is wrong without studying it?

The only way to not be ignorant is to educate yourself.

This discussion has run it's course. I can't debate someone who can't even be truthful to himself.

To say the bible has never been proven wrong....is 100% a lie.

To say science is wrong 99.9% of the time and not even admit to using hyperbole is beyond ignorant and bordering on reprehensible.

I enjoy debates of this sort but they can't be fruitful when they take place between two people that are actually educated and willing to engage in an honest debate, rather than throwing out irresponsible absolutes.

    Have a good night.

Hysterical... You studied theology to prove it was wrong? Sort of like studying athletics to sit in your parents basement and know you are correct to not exercise. lmao

Then I just made a mistake when I was copying and pasting. Either way it’s my mistake and I corrected it.

Just because you study something doesn't mean you buy into it. Theology, as a topic, is interesting, like sociology.
Why would you NOT study something or look into it before having an opinion about it? Hell, even Carl Sagan admitted to being wrong about shit he was studying/researching.
We ALL can't be ALL-KNOWING... like you-know-who, right?

When I was in highschool I became very interested in religion and it’s origins. I started to question god and a lot of other things. Some of it was thanks to books like Stranger in a Strangeland. Some of it was because things happening in the world defied what I had learned growing up in a farming, Christian community.

So I studied. And I studied. And I tried to learn as much as I could. I used the athletic scholarship I got to a good school to study more.

And yeah along the way when I came across books they won’t tell you about in church and opened myself up to things that weren’t mainstream...I realized the stories we force feed our kids about god and other nonsense turned out to be fairy tales built on lies piled on stacks of bullshit.

I’m sure you will do nothing but toss out another ignorant lmao to all of that but that’s how it happened. I wouldn’t expect someone with an empty and closed mind to get it.

    I will just say this.

I don't lie to cover up a mistake I make. I'm glad at least you acknowledged your mistake.

The so called fairy tales are stories written by men thousands of years ago, when people had their tongues cut out for lying.

Science is written by men who have no punishment for lying. They are rewarded for originality. Unfortunately science is wrong 99.9% of the time. You can argue against it all you want it won't change anything.

Science has given mankind some great things and we should all be thankful for it. Weirdest part of science is... The Nazis were credited with so much advancements in science. Their brutality and inhumane treatment of humans brought about a huge advancement in medicine.

Science is flawed always will be. Trial and error still has errors.

I am amused with the god talk. Master please us. Master help us.
I need to be one. For $999.99 you can get this best selling book, "Becoming God".
This is not in stores. Get a first edition, they will run out soon.

I hope for all the atheists out there that they are right, because if I'm wrong I just look foolish.

I can't help but notice the dog on your avi, it looks very wise. It looks like it knows something we all don't, like it's seen some wicked shit.

    Good observation.

It was a mistake, not a lie.

The fairy tales in the bible and other books and records were written by men who, in most cases, lived a long time after the reported events took place. Every writing of Jesus is written by someone that didn't live during the same time he supposedly did. Even the Gospels that are written as first hand accounts likely aren't and were written by men who likely weren't even present or alive during the supposed time Jesus lived.

So while there were severe punishments for lying....none of the writers of histories greatest fairy tales would be subject to these punishments because it's hard to prove a lie a hundred years or more afterwards.

There is punishment in science for lying. A scientist that lies isn't going to be trusted by his or her peers....in an environment where peer review means everything.

The statement science is wrong 99.9% of the time is false. Yet you continue to type it. I don't even need to argue against it....it's an unfounded statement brought from a position of ignorance rather than knowledge.

Most advancements in medicine have some brutal origins. That's not really weird...if you were study the subject you would find it rather normal.

It's okay to be flawed. It's okay to make errors. That is how science advances. You continue to use it as a negative when it's just not. It's a silly argument. Without all those flaws...without the trial and error...we wouldn't be where we are today.

This is in difference to religion...which doesn't admit it flaws. It's hypocrisies. Religion is an antiquated system that should have been obsolete a long time ago but it's such a strong system of control that weak minds still cling to it in fear of the unknown. Mankind will one day break free of it...not sure how far in the future that will be. I know I won't live to see it. But it will happen.

Well if you spend your whole life looking foolish...what's the harm in looking foolish one more time in death?

The good news for you is atheists don't really get an "I told you so" moment. Because you die and that's it. You're dead. Blackness forever. And you'll be wrong...but you won't know you were. So you get to die as you lived....in ignorance. Congrats.

You are really funny for a guy who took theology 101. Guess that was an optional course to get a good enough grade to keep your scholarship.

Theology is pretty easy ... and simple. Its mostly fiction, with possibly some characters that actually existed (names changed?) for dialogue and context.
