Since science is correct and religion is ... not, of course the "incorrects" wanna jump on that wagon or paint it up as some equal or a similar system.
How's that picket in yer arse feel, fence-sitters?

LOGIC is the difference maker here.

Re: Dumb predictions... I've been hearing about the "end of times", Revelation, and all that other hocus-pocus bullshit since 1978, from various "men of gawd". Wasn't the world ending in Y2K... I mean, 2006, no I mean 2012, no wait... it's coming this time. SERIOUSLY!!!

Actually there is tons of evidence of man creating religion.

From the ancient gods of the Romans, Egyptians, and Greeks....to paganism...sun worship...moon worship...to more modern religions like Scientology.

What evidence exist that prove a god ever created a religion? Get back to me on that when you can.

There is potential for a mini ice age to still hit us.

No science ever said the sun revolves around the earth....that was a primitive thought process that was destroyed by the heliocentric model.

The big bang isn't the best theory because it raises more questions than it answers....but it's a bit better than saying man was created by a god breathing on dust and woman was created with one of his ribs.

Science isn't a religion. Science is knowledge and studying. Science evolves...religion doesn't. In Science you have to prove your work....in religion you don't.

You're out of your depth here.

Love that statement... SCIENCE EVOLVES??? In other words SCIENCE IS ALWAYS WRONG!!!

btw... what was science back before " the heliocentric model" was the sun revolves around the earth.

One day someone like you will say "the big bang model" was primitive.

The bible has yet to be proven false. Science has spent millennia trying to disprove the bible.

Potential for an ice age... Let me save you the potential... Science says eventually there will be an ice age.

In 1975, Modern Science said we would be in an ice age by 2000. WRONG!!!

No different than the cults who have claimed the end of the world over many centuries.

Whether you admit it or not... Science is a religion. Proven wrong more times than anyone can count.

Keep believing if you want. Your beliefs will change... ohhhh sorry... evolve lmao...

Holy crapballs is the ignorance overflowing in this post. Where to even start?

    1. Science does evolve. What we thought was true yesterday often times isn't true today...and the science evolves around the new stuff we learn.

    2. If science is always wrong....explain advancing technology? Why are new cell phones better than the ones we have 20 years ago? How have computers advanced so much.....how are new cars better and more efficient than old ones? How has medicine gotten better and better? That's all science and all prove that it isn't "always wrong".

    3. The sun revolving around the earth was a man made, egotistical idea. It wasn't based on science. Science disproved it. Just like science disproved the earth isn't flat...and doesn't sit on four pillars.

    4. One day someone will say a lot of our current ideas are primitive. Because we are still learning about the world around us. We don't know everything yet. We probably know less than 1% of what the universe really is and how it works. Humans 1000 years from now...if we survive that long...will laugh at us. They will look at us the way we look at humans from the prehistoric age. Because science advances.

    5. The bible hasn't been proven false? It's 100% factual that snakes can't talk. And a man can't live inside a whale. Water can't actually be turned into wine. And no one has seen or heard from god in a few thousand years....why did he suddenly stop talking to people?

The bible....is complete and utter bullshit. A book of really bad fairy tales that contradict each other and hasn't stood the test of time. The bible is collection of books written by man.

If god were all knowing and all powerful....why was slavery permitted in biblical times? Why would god then be for things that everyone today accepts god is against. Murder, bigotry, racism, misogyny, slavery, polygamy, genocide, regicide, rape, and did I mention murder? These are all things considered immoral today. These are all things most "good christians" would tell you their god is against. But when you read the bible....their god supported and in a lot cases encouraged these things. Why? If he were all knowing and all powerful and so on he would have known then what he knows now, right?

The reason those things were okay then and aren't now is because man has evolved. We aren't that primitive anymore. Women have become equals to men in most places in the world and we know now that it's wrong to hate someone because of the color of their skin. The primitive men that wrote the bible....didn't. And they fashioned their god in their own image.

    6. There is potential for a mini ice age right now due to decreasing sunspot activity. Look it up. Read a damn book or something kiddo.

    7. Science is wrong. A lot. And that's okay. Because by being wrong you learn how to be right. It's okay to mess up. The reason science thrives is because good scientist have no fear of being wrong. That's what experimentation is all about.

“For a scientist, this is a good way to live and die, maybe the ideal way for any of us - excitedly finding we were wrong and excitedly waiting for tomorrow to come so we can start over.” ― Norman Maclean

    8. My beliefs do evolve over time. What I believe today isn't exactly the same as what I believed when I was a teenage or even what I believed 10 years ago.

It's called learning. You should try it sometime.

    1. I find it funny you say what we "thought" was true yesterday isn't true tomorrow. Your wording is awesome. In other words... What science "believed" was true today was "wrong".

    2. If it rains 364 days a year where you live, you would say it always rains there. So yes Science is always wrong. Of course they get something right every now and then. A blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while also.

    3. It was science in it's time. You say egotistical idea. Of course there are no egotistical ideas today that are called science. Dream on. The arrogance of man is rife throughout science today.

    4. Because Science advances... AKA. Science was wrong and proves itself wrong.

    5. Free will. Rules were spoken and not followed, and still today not followed.

    6. Define mini ice age. lmao. I always love "potential". Can never be wrong with that statement. There is potential that the earth won't exist in a year. lmao

    7. Science is wrong. Good start, the missing point is how the hell long does it take for science to tell us they were wrong.

    8. Your beliefs change. Because your beliefs when you were a teenager were wrong. simple.

I learn every day. I'm not arrogant enough to say God doesn't exist. I'm not arrogant enough to think man knows better. I don't know it all, nor do I claim to worship a system that is wrong 99.9% of the time.

Science evolves with the development of man and his gained knowledge through theory, study and practice.

Religion anchors to archaic times and attempts to drag man back 2000 years, the rocking days of the world's first known hippie.

The world is wising up to ancient hokey mysticism, the evil eye and stories told by so-called "saints".

Bowing and praying to an over-seeing lord or master? No thanks. I'm digging my freedom.
Have you found happiness in slavery? Gotta have slaves (at least one) if there's a master, otherwise he is master of none.

Here's a good story. Stop me if you've heard this one. Once upon a time there were three little pigs...

    Oh yeah... Archaic times...

Thou shalt not commit murder... out of fashion
Honor thy mother and father... total bs... we should strive to embarrass them every chance we get.
Thou shalt not covet... Oh yeah... probably the worst of them all... A socialists credo... what Johnny has I should have.
Thou shalt not steal... how else can I get what Johnny has?
Thou shalt not bare false witness... Lie, Lie and continue to lie... it's a great way to live... archaic.
I haven't listed the others, because if you don't believe in God they aren't archaic they are false.

What about the man (Jerry?) in the Moby Dick's belly? Or was that Pinocchio?

Talking shrubs on fire! Talking serpents. Rain for 40 days/40 nites flooded the earth? Two of every animal on earth on a single boat with the Swiss Family Robinson for a 3-hour tour? How did the wildlife of the Amazon/Anarctica/Australia/etc. get on the ark when it set sail from the desert of Eurasia? DHL? Maybe they didn't make it and all of the wildlife in those regions are only less than 6000 years old, although science tells us otherwise.

Some joker took the most basic social norms (humans are naturally social) and wrote them down and said it was from THE sky master. Ok buddy.

I find it funny that you can't even quote me correctly even though my post is directly above yours and you used the quote function on it.

Yes, science learns a lot that what they used to believe turns out to be something different. Because science is always experimenting...always checking back on it's work. That's how discoveries are made. It would be kinda silly if they found something and said "Hey, we are done here". If they did it would be impossible to advance.

    If I rain 364 days a year where I live....I'd move.

Science does a lot more than get something right once in a while. That is a massively ignorant statement on your part. If science didn't get stuff right a lot....we wouldn't have the International Space Station. We wouldn't be able to cure diseases. We wouldn't have stepped foot on the moon or have cars that can nearly drive themselves. We wouldn't be able to build a building 2700 feet into the sky or explore 36000 feet into the ocean in the Marina Trench.

Science did all that....and a lot more.

And proves itself right many times over. I sense you're a glass half empty kinda guy. Or maybe just an idiot.

No no...dumb dumb. Read what I wrote again. I didn't speak of actions that were contrary to the rules. I spoke of actions condoned by the almighty. Hence...allowed and within the rules.

    Try again.

Google mini ice age. Are you scared you might learn something or does all the reading give you a headache? Maybe pretty pictures are more your speed?

You can still be wrong when you say potential. Science has some facts to back up the ice age idea....sun spot activity.

It's not a fully accepted theory...some scientist don't think the decreased sunspot activity will be enough to cause temperatures to drop low enough to make an impact. The sun isn't all that predictable so it's really hard to tell. The sun could lose 7% of it's power...some scientist think it could lose as much as 15%.

    ://bigthink.com/news/the-solar-minimum-is-coming-in-about-30-years-what-will-it-do

Unlike religion....this isn't made up stuff. It isn't exact...because how can it be? But that doesn't make it crap.

Well I doubt you spend any time reading science journals....but if you did you'd have a better idea as to the answer here. I won't spoil it for you except to say....you're off base.

I agree. When I was a teenager I still believed in the existence of a god. I eventually got that one right, thankfully.

You completely missed my point though and based on everything else I've seen you type I am not surprised.

My point is beliefs change over time because you learn new stuff. Your belief system should evolve as you learn. That's life. Facts should change your beliefs.

I don't believe you do and your comments on the bible and science prove that.

It isn't arrogance. I know the god of the bible, koran, or any other religious text doesn't exist. It's not possible. Too many contradictions...too much proof on earth of man making up deities. Too many inconsistencies. Your god is fake.

I'm an atheist because I reject religion. I don't pretend to know everything...as I said man knows probably less than 1% about the universe and what it really is. I think it's immensely possible a creating force exist somewhere. Probably more like an energy force than a sentient being. But it could very likely still exist.

It's your god I call bullshit on.

Science isn't wrong 99% of the time. That's a bullshit statement and you know it.

And I don't think man knows it all or knows better. We don't know nearly enough. We haven't even cracked the surface. We're ignorant beings on the whole. The universe is a massive unknown. But we are on the right path. Well, most of us.

You're ignorant. And seemingly very uneducated. Or probably more to the point....miseducated. I can't help you with that, you need to do it on your own.

Anyone that thinks the bible is all facts and has never been disproved is lost in a bad way. Even the catholic church has confronted the fact that a lot of what is written in the books of the bible is crap. They've admitted Galileo was correct....that there is no hell....and they've taken the route of saying a lot of old testament is allegory and not actual, factual stories.

Bottom line...science isn't a religion....and science will take you a lot further than an invisible man in the clouds possibly can.

Do you know the idea of the ten commandments was copied from an earlier religion...like so many things in Abrahamic religions?

In this case the commandments resemble, closely, and can be traced back to the Afrikan-Kemetic laws.

Only there were 42 of them. Ole Moses...if he existed he would have been a Black Afrikan from Kemet (Egypt) and would be well aware of these. So he copied and pasted.....

There's very little originality in the religions of Mr. Abraham.

Thanks for taking your quote of yourself and accusing me of using it off of here. lmao

Science makes billions of mistakes. It is wrong 99.9% of the time. You've pointed out some of the .1% that it has been correct.

How many times did Science fail trying to fly before it succeeded? And that is just one that succeeded. There are millions and millions of those that never succeed that you are unaware of.

So while you lecture me to read hypotheses about the sun. I will tell you they are hypotheses and not fact. The "evidence" is what is occurring on the sun at this time and projections. They can't even project the dam weather next week, but you go ahead and believe they can project what Is going to happen on the sun. LMAO

Weather is Science. They are wrong all the time. Every day, everywhere.

Point out cell phones and cars. Great!!! Glad they do get things right every now and then. Guess Science was evolving when they bled people to try to help them live?

Right now I can give you some bs that science is passing on to everyone. Get ready to learn something. Cholesterol is a good thing. Statins may be the worst drug ever given by society.
Cholesterol is vital to the cells in our bodies to absorb important nutrients. Lowering cholesterol makes us sicker. The number 1 side effect of statins??? Muscle cramps... What is the heart???
A muscle... duhhhhh… I am ignorant of course...

Science pushes all this crap on us for money. It has little to do with accuracy. Keep believing in your religion Science.
