religion is religion ? didn't L. Ron Hubbard invent scientology in the 1950's vs other religions believing in God and teachings ? to me that's a little different. i wouldn't call anything i created out of my basement a religion.

 

That only holds water if you truly believe that God came down and told certain people how to act and what to write down in a book. Otherwise it's the same thing, just a couple thousand years apart.

 

All religions were created by a man or woman at one point in time. It's just a matter of timeline...some religions have lasted longer than others.

It was the human notion to look to the sun and give praise, for it brought life. Personalizing it, humanizing it in his own image in hopes of understanding life (and death), giving it a name (gawd) was the human’s idea. The gawd didn’t write the story books or called them holy. We did that. Archaic sun-worshipping advanced for profit.

For the record, I do most of my sun worshipping at the various beaches on this gawdless planet.

Being the most intelligent beings on this planet....it stands to reason we did the inventing, does it not? Especially considering a majority of religions revolve around humans.
