The Ditch part deux

Im not so sure they can change things with improved equipment in my mind. Im not sold there is anything that can be done to relinquish the head cases that come from the violence of football and hockey... hope im dead wrong to and they can make equipment that significantly cuts down the percentages of head trauma. Im sure their working on it as we speak, but it seams odd this wasn't accomplished a long time ago and seems to be getting worse instead of better.

 

i want to go back to leather elbow pads and shoulder pads. the light weight synthetic stuff is harder than a rock and too unforgiving on contact.
of course the NHLPA wouldnt be on board but essentially it would benefit the players in the long run.

 

I work with Aaron Downey occasionally; Aaron played for the Detroit Redwings when they won the Cup in 2006 I think. Aaron is in remarkable shape (he trains athletes for a living now) but I've never asked him about head injuries or trauma. He was known as the Enforcer when he played so I can imagine he sustained a number of concussions. I'm going to ask him next time I see him.

the tributes to the Humboldt Broncos, Vegas shooting victims and Parkland shooting victims was damn moving and touching last night. Wow. The scene of the Broncos bus crash was just awful to look at.
