And what should stand out to anyone looking at the first list is.... Kizer was only 21 years old while everyone else on that list was at least 23.
Kizer sucks, wazoo...Are you really trying to convince Browns fans how good he is???? Geezus man. smh...Might wanna pick a new battle...lol!
I'm not saying one way or the other. I'm just saying there is a rush to paint this kid as terrible when he may not be.
He sucks cause he’s not w the Browns anymore...like I said he would take chances on throws on 3rd n long and increase his chances for Ints....Taylor would rather throw a 5 yd comp on 3 n 10 and have no chance at a 1st down...all in the mentality of the QB
I agree with Wazoo and stopper on this one. I still think Kizer is a better QB than Josh Allen. Honestly, for his career, the best thing happened to him. To be able to sit for a couple of years behind Rodgers, then they can trade him to a needy team. He will have an opportunity to wipe out the memories of 2017 in this environment. He was a rookie and that's what MANY rookies do.
Whatever you say, Irishdawg...I see you got the Golden Dome glasses firmly on today. Even agreeing with stopper? smh....At least wazoo's post made possible sense. Hard for me to believe that you agree with stopper's idiotic post, but whatever. Unfortunately, we didn't have the luxury of spending 4 years trying to teach Kizer how to be a QB, while our superstar holds it down....That said, based on everything I saw last season, I'm not worried AT ALL about Kizer coming back to haunt us, or even make us slightly regret trading him...He sucks. He's gone. Thank god. He was the worst I've seen in my 49 years.... We are only talking him because Steeler fan is trying to remind us that we always screw up the QB situation. And stopper is just doing what he does. Don't fuel the fire...We have capable quarterbacks now. Last year, we did not. I do agree that the best thing that could have happened to Kizer, did...He got traded to a place where he will never see the field.
Chill out TD, we all have opinions. I don't for a minute think he will come back to haunt us. In the end, imho, we certainly came out WAY ahead with Mayfield over Kizer. You are misinterpreting what I said. I DO believe Kizer will develop into a decent QB, especially in the environment he went to. I also believe Mayfield is better prepared now, is a better QB currently and will remain a better QB because of his overall skillset. Lastly, I agree 100% we have MORE than capable QBs now, in both Mayfield and Taylor...I'm not sure why anyone is still talking about Kizer, but we all do it.
No where in any of these statements did I, or any of the other posters say he was going to come back to haunt us. It merely states that he was young and made young QB mistakes...I agree with that. I also agree that he and Taylor are two different types of QBs....however, Taylor wins games by not losing them, which is certainly something the rookie version of Kizer did.
Bottom line, Irish: There's no freaking way that you'd be defending the play of Deshone Kizer if he went to any other school... Hey, if you guys wanna start the Kizer fan club, be my guest...What do I care? I have zero faith that he will ever be a quality starting QB in the NFL.
Aaaand, nowhere did I say that you or anybody else did say that....It was simply my counter take to Wazoo's notion that Kizer might be good someday. I even prefaced it with, "Based on what I saw last year..." Put it this way...If I was an NFL defensive coordinator, there is NO QB I've ever seen at this level that I'd rather go against. I said this during the season about 100 times last year; Kizer is a defensive coordinator's dream come true.
It's my bad, fellas. I invoked he-who-shall-not-be-named when defending yet another assault on Josh Gordon: Objectively, that statement is 100-percent true and anyone who's arguing for Kizer at this point is (1) wrong, (2) not a Browns fan, and (3) just trying to start something. We can agree to disagree on what level of success (if any) he'll achieve at the NFL level. I think we all do agree on two things: *SO* glad we have Taylor, Mayfield, and Stanton He (Kizer) is in a better place
Yesterday in an interview with the NFL Network, Jarvis Landry dropped "If we play to our potential, we (are) unstoppable". This is accompanied with new LB M Kendricks coming out and saying how the team has talent at every level, including coaching, that he knows what it takes to win, and this team has what it takes. This influx of players is doing great for the confidence. Guys who weren't around the losing the last two years have nothing knocking them back and they all seem to be working their asses off to not have to deal with it. I have seen several people knocking these quotes and I think that's ridiculous. These guys are professionals. They SHOULD think they are the best and going to win. If they didn't have that mindset they have no business being on the field. That and most I have seen just completely ignored the "if we play to our potential" part, probably because it wasn't the headline.
And you tell ME i need to chill out. lol! I know he's not a Brown anymore...I rejoice in that fact every day.
