This is a very good evaluation. The Browns are a talented team. No reason why they shouldn't be able to compete in every game on their schedule.
Kinda tough to gauge last season with Gordon only getting a handful of games, coming back from an extended absence, and playing with the worst quarterback in team history. For what it's worth, Casey Haward (LAC) ranked Gordon as the toughest guy he's ever had to cover. They faced off in Gordon's first real game action in 1,078 days (almost three years).
For the past 19 years... We won't know where they rank until December/January. New team, new year...??same result?? Maybe not..
Im guessing the implication is its the Steelers? Its definitely an apples to apples comparison comparing a top tier qb with literally the worst, and a utilized running game vs an abandoned one. If you talk about the skill level of the corps as a unit, it is very possible. Steelers get had over 1/3 of their receiving production from non-receivers. This says nothing about the offense as a whole, there are still variables on each team in terms of WR. Is AB a top WR? yes. If Gordon plays to what he has shown (homer glasses off) I would take him 8 days a week and twice on sunday over AB. I know that is a big IF, But if I could have a little fast guy, or the Ultimate Warrior stretched to 6'3 with the same speed, that's who Im taking.
I just don't think there will be enough balls to go around for Chubb to get ROY. Barkley has NO competition for touches in New York. He will likely end up with more carries, yards and TDs. A more solid expectation/prediction that I will make is that the BROWNS will be in the top 10 in rushing yards AND TDs.
I know I didn't quote your whole statement, but I didn't want to address Gordon really. To say Kizer was the worst quarterback in team history is hyperbole at the least. He was a rookie, who by anyone's standards was expected to sit a full year at least. I won't be surprised if you look really idiotic in a few years when Kizer learns under a team willing to teach him what he needs to learn. It may turn out that Kizer was the best QB Cleveland has had in decades.
Hyperbole is a gross exaggeration to prove a point. Kizer dropped one of the worst QB years in ALL teams history, not just the Browns. The performance has nothing to do with the pre-draft expectation. He played, he laid a dozen eggs, and gave away ten of them :: rim shot ::. Hyperbole would be saying something like "Josh Gordon is built like a transformer"...wait a second...maybe I don't understand how this thing works.
When? In 2017? Are you asking if Cook will get an exemption and be eligible in 2018? Is this a real question? Are you a real person? There is one eligible for 2018, if that is truly what you are asking...but his name has an "e" at the end of it. P Logan Cooke.
Yes being serious..didn’t know if you had to play a certain amount of games...different sport but baseball u need 150 ABs to qualify..btw this is a fake person
How about this: for a Browns' quarterback who received at least as many starts as Kizer, he is the worst in team history in a season. And for as many starts in a career, he's second-worst in Browns' history.
I won't be surprised if I look really idiotic, either. But it damn sure won't be because DeShone Kizer has amounted to anything.
