Since Toy Story was released in 1995, there have been three Pixar/Disney films that won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Name the films. 1,000 attaboys if you can name the songs, as well. Bonus question - name the three other (non-Pixar) Disney films that have won the same award in the same time frame.
Pocohontas, the Prince of Egypt and Tarzan. Phil Collins won an Oscar for the Tarzan one. Toy Story never won the Oscar for Best Song. The 3 biggies are: The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast-which also became the first animated movie ever to be nominated for Best Picture in the old voting format of 5 pictures for Best Picture.
Pocahontas and Tarzan are 2 of the 3 bonus question answers. Prince of Egypt was not Disney, it was DreamWorks. Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty were all pre-1995.
Those are the Disney ones, although Prince of Egypt doesn't count. Replace that with Let It Go from Frozen. (And he never said Toy Story won). Monsters Inc.: If I Didn't Have You. Toy Story 3: We Belong Together Coco: Remember Me
You'll Be In My Heart and Colors of the Wind are those other songs. The Disney songs are easy to remember.
I get bubkis for the bonus. Forget about it. "Around the same time frame," I thought meant close to the 1995 release of A Toy Story. That's why I went even older with the 3 biggies of Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty. Coco won this last year - is that in the same time frame ? Never mind. Never seen half these movies.
Peter O' Toole with 8 unless some costume designer beats him. O'Toole did win an Honorary Oscar though not the same thing.
And I know you don't see animated movies, but I also know you're good on Oscar trivia so that's why I went for the song angle.
Beauty and the Beast was great. Aladdin was over the top bc of Robin Williams. The Lion King was okay. I've seen some others but nothing new in 10+ yrs. No Frozen, Finding Nemo 2 or 3, Mulan or anything else. Never saw Toy Story 2 or 3 either. Now the ones from the 1930's-60's I've seen. I think everyone has. Those are some great movies.
Do we really have to argue about this? LOL. A time frame is any specified period of time within which something occurs. I specified a period of "since 1995."
