It would be easier money betting someone that you would write a post with proper English and spelling. We both no that "aint" happening.

What post have I written stating they are going to be playoff contenders this year? Reading and writing...they kinda go together, don't they?

  2. I gave you the sure pick the night before the draft...he was +550 at the time

  3. How many games are they gonna win? You thought last year they would win 4-7 games I believe

Yeah, I think it would be best for me to give up my night job of trying to read a crystal ball. I have no idea what the season brings, any more than you do that they will only win 1-3 games.

In May, it is a crap shoot to even try to guess what teams on the schedule will do, let alone the uncertainty of any given Sunday in the NFL. We could lose 14 games, yet beat the best two teams on the schedule, it doesn't really tell you a whole lot other than the NFL is a league of parity. All I can say is that on paper, this roster has a lot more veteran leadership than it did the past two seasons. That to me should help this team win some of the tough games, but the games aren't played with paper.

  5. I stand corrected then...your in the minority cause I have been reading 9 and 10 wins this year contending for the wildcard on this forum

I, as well as others, have mentioned that 9 wins could happen....Not that it's expected. Just that it could. Stopper just hears what he wants and runs with it.

Honestly, I would rather go around this time of year looking at the positive and hoping for the best than being so negative that 3 1/2 months before games start you already believe they won't win a game all year. That must be a miserable way to live.

I also think there's a better than 50/50 chance that Baker Mayfield starts week 1....Call me crazy, but I just don't think it's going to be beyond his reach to surpass Tyrod Taylor in relatively short order. Not a knock on Taylor. A credit to the caliber of QB that I believe Baker is.

If I had to predict when we see Mayfield. I'd say if he doesn't own the job by week one, we will see him whenever the Browns lose two games in a row.

(yeah Stopper. Week 3 is possible. I know what your post would have been, and I'll save you the effort)...

The only way Tyrod will stay the starter is if he wins...

I don't disagree with your assessment TD, I just think that Hue will avoid that scenario at all cost. I think the only way Baker sees the field before mid point is an injury to Tyrod, and/or an 0-3 record.

Tyrod WILL start the season, if healthy. Tyrod can win games in this league, he's proven and he gives Hue the best shot at keeping his job, plain and simple. Although Baker may "seem" to pass Tyrod in practice (which honestly, as much as I love Baker, I don't think it will happen, Tyrod is a legit starter in this league), practice and game mode are two totally different thing. Hue saw what rookie starting week one looks like, even though there is no comparison between Baker Mayfield "ready" and DeShone Kizer "ready", he doesn't want to risk his job on the ups and downs of a rookie QB learning the ropes. I think he needs 6 wins to keep his job...and I believe he will wait for an injury to insert Baker for Tyrod.

Man... imagine being @showstopper for a moment and just filled with rage every time you see this guy do something awesome.

I can picture him in the dimly-lit basement of his mom's house screaming at the computer screen, mouth full of Cheetos while the crumbs spray on an already dingy keyboard: "ur a bum, Josh Gordon! total lozer!!"

    On that note...

It's been reported that Haley has "total autonomy" over the offense. Does that include who his starter at QB is?

@SAS, I want to know who over threw the pass

Tough to tell on the quick clip, but it sure looks like #5 was taking the rep.

That's also assuming it's all one linear clip. Could have been Brogan Roback.

And it wasn't (he's #3 standing behind Taylor)... I just wanted to remind everyone we signed a guy named 'Brogan' to the team.

  17. When that guy makes a play...the game has been decided....we call that garbage time

The thing is. If Mayfield becomes clearly the better option, as I expect he will, those players and assistant coaches are going to know it too. I think Hue would love for it to be like your scenario, but Mayfield will force the issue. If Haley is pounding the desk for Baker to start, there is only so much Hue can do...

If Baker makes it SO obvious that everyone in the building can't ignore it, I'll be wanting him in the lineup as well. Tyrod is the real deal, as it comes to professionalism. It isn't like he is trying to beat out Cody Kessler or Kevin Hogan. It it becomes that obvious... Then they made the right choice at #1 overall.

I understand Tyrod is a good football player....I just believe #1 overall has what it takes to make it obvious, and he will take his job. There's no shame in that for Taylor. He was a 6th round pick. There were nine QB's drafted ahead of Tyrod Taylor, and the only ones remaining in the league are Cam Newton and Andy Dalton. So Tyrod has done very well, and obviously proved a lot of doubters wrong.
