Eagles apparently turned down #35 overall from the Browns for Nick Foles before they traded for Tyrod Taylor. Eagles were leaning on not trading him but asked Foles if he wanted to go and he wanted to stay (probably because the Browns owned #1 overall and were gonna draft a QB and not because of the team itself).
If he went to Cleveland they still draft a QB #1 and he knows the team invested too much to not let the #1 overall pick take over.
Well, as good as he is, they didn't let Mayfield play against NFL players in college, so we'll have to wait and see how he does against them after Tyrod's time is up. He looked pretty good playing against college guys.
A good question. My only answer is that Slam values stability over all else, and / or he made deal with Hue when Sashi and Hue came in, that he'd be captain of the Titanic for two years and regardless of the record he'd be given the oppty to steer the new ship for at least a season, once they were outfitted with new rigging. Nothing he's done has demonstrated good HC ability, with the possible exception of being capable of getting guys to keep playing hard in the face of insurmountable adversity. His removal from direct responsibility for the O, speaks volumes IMO about where his position in the organization stands today, and how tenuous it may be. I'd like to hope he can be a better HC than he was an OC, but his talent development record, and his total refusal to adjust his game plan to better position the team to complete, is against him. Maybe having some distance from play calling will allow him to see the larger picture, and have a positive impact, but he's got to demonstrate it, or Dorsey will get his own guy. 0 and 4 could be all he gets, following 1 and 31.
I truly believe the 0 for the season kept the players playing...they didnt want to go 0-16...also a new GM was hired mid season so everyone was playing for their jobs
Just a guess: Corbett starts as the swing lineman (John Grego role) and ends the 2018 season as our starting LT.
"Hey Tyrod, where you at, baby? Break us down." #TeamTyrod Spoiler: What If... That was Baker Mayfield asking where Tyrod was and having him break down the huddle?
Just saw Philly released LB Kendricks (designated June 1st). Think the Browns have any need or interest?
NEED, absolutely Interest..won't happen He is officially a free agent, not placed on waivers as far as I can tell, so he will be signing with a team that is expected to be in the playoffs. They would need to overpay, which at this juncture probably isn't in the plans for either side. (edit) I will say, this is the type of player I expect Dorsey to fill out the final roster with after camp cuts...I just think it was done too early in the process for the Browns to have a legitimate shot at him.
Well I know if I'm you I would be taking out the largest amount of loans I can to bet the over on the Browns win total since your so sure their on the brink of making the playoffs...easiest money you will ever make in your eyes....thats using your head...not making bold statements just to make them
