Im guessing this silly notion that losers cant be considered for the GOAT only applies to the QB position correct?
Of course - because QBs also run the ball, catch the ball, block, tackle, kick field goals, punt, and make all the coaching decisions.
1 was just a little jab to get you guys going, I had no idea my innocuous comments would cause a meltdown Jay Cutler style. Your 2 is mostly wrong. No little pissant bear fan ever put me in my place, because they are unable to reach above themselves. And I don't blame it on mod intervention, I blame it on sandy vag bears fans crying to the mods because they couldn't take a little back and forth joking. 3. And this, I never hid the fact that my purpose there was to have some fun and "poke the bear", what I didn't know was how many crybabies there were in your fanbase.
No, because it's not silly. Now the correct notion where only QBs are referred to as having won the SB, or having lost the SB, being the only position referred to as such, also means they are the only position blamed for a loss. Just like you don't blame the Sergeant of the 2nd company for losing a battle, only the field general.
I remember when Jackie Smith lost the SB (XIII) for his team. So... no, that above statement is NOT always true.
Smith didn’t lose the game for Dallas, Cliff Harris did when he patted Gerela on the head. Jack Lambert and the rest of the Steel Curtain went nuts after that.
I suppose they are free to make that argument and when you look at their regular season stats their per game averages are very close in receptions per game, yards per game and touchdowns but once you move on to the post season Rice blows him out of the water. Regular Season Rec/Game Don 4.2 Rice 5.1 Yards/Game Don 68.9 Rice 75.6 TD/Game Don .9 Rice .7 Post Season Rec/Game Don 2 Rice 5.2 Yards/Game Don 32.6 Rice 77.4 TD/Game Don .2 Rice .8 Not only does Rice handily beat Don in the post season his averages in the post season rise when compared to his regular season while Don's fall in the post season compared to the regular season.
Hudson was as good as Rice considering when he played. He held the records Rice holds for like 50 years. Rice won’t hold them near that long.
He is likely to hold them longer than you think. Many of the guys who could catch him might not play long enough to do so because of the amount of money they now make.
AB isnt even close to breaking his TD record Brown has 59 Rice has 197. Just looking at Browns time as a full time starter he averages 10 TDs a year which means he will need over 13 years to catch Rice. He will need 8 years to catch his yardage record and that is only if he keeps up his average of 1570 yards per year average as a starter. Even when it comes to receptions its going to take him 7 years at 116 receptions a year (his current average). To break the record. Sure AB is young enough to still play that long on all of them but who is to say he does and even if he should he may not be able to keep up that pace for a variety of reasons one of which includes a QB change occurring during that span (Ben is not lasting another 7 years). Yeah I know you already have Rudolph stepping in and being the next great thing but dint you also have Wheaton as being the second coming of Brown?
