Gentlemen!!! Lets use this thread for all of your petty little BS arguments. Ya'll are sounding like a bunch of sassy middle schoolers.
Ive seen something to this affect all over the place, but still have no clue what its in reference to.
Depends on your ear and how your perceive high/low tones. If I recall, if your'e able to hear higher frequencies, you hear "Yanny" and if you hear lower frequencies, it's "Laurel".
yeah...I hear Laurel and Brainstorm. My hearing is crap from thinking I was too cool to wear ear plugs when I was in a rock band for 10 years.
Mine went to hell after working in a weather tower 40 feet off of the runway in the Air Force followed up by running an electric arc furnace in a foundry after I was discharged. I then followed that up by working in a metal stamping plant just to make sure I would end up half deaf.
A lot of rock concerts undoubtedly took their toll. Ted Nugent is probably personally responsible for some of my hearing loss, from an 86 show in the Ohio Center (Columbus), but I never had any real hearing issues until my first wife and I went to Myrtle Beach. I was probably about 27. Not sure if it came from the ocean, pool, hot tub, or what, but I got the worst ear infection in the history of mankind. Don't know the extent of damage my hearing took, but it was affected for sure. I never wore ear plugs to swim before that happened, and I've never not worn ear plugs swimming since... Words for the wise... Don't try to travel if you ever find yourself in that situation, with a bad inner ear infection. You can trust me on that one.
I wear a helmet when I ride my motorcycle these days, but I never used to. Twenty years of that probably didn't do my hearing any favors.... If I'm being honest, I wear it more for the protection from wind noise than anything else.
Wait... the fans' reactions to internet trolls or the 88-216 (0.289) since 1999 that's gotten embarrassing?
If you hear Yanny apparently you got younger ears. I don't get it as my mom is the only that hears it and she has the worst hearing out of all of us. The real answer is Laurel and it's slightly manipulated so that some brains get confused and her Yanny. That being said if you distract yourself in a conversation with someone you can hear both or even as my and my brothers did a "Ya-rel".
There’s actually hearing tests where you can find out what levels you hear at. http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2009/03/can-you-hear-this-hearing-test/ I would warn these are very sharply pitched, so turn your sound down - at least at first. My ears quit at 20k kHz. Can’t hear that or above.
