New League Year - 2018

With the league calendar changing we will make it so that everyone gets an opportunity to make their roster compliant.

I'll get emails out this week for those that need to trim down rosters and we can finalize a draft date that works for everyone.

 

LOL I had three guys that retired on my roster. All good now.

 

Taxi squad has been added. We will now keep our practice squad players in these two designated spots. Same PS rules apply (one offense/one defense, normal activation rules).

The IR spots that we formerly kept our practice squad players in will now be used for players with a minimum injury listed for Injured Reserve Designated for return.

Being that we now have the injury spots available the overall roster size will be returning to 30, reducing it from 31. We had originally bumped the roster up one spot in order to make up for the loss of an IR spot when we designated players to the PS. Now that we have a PS and an IR we can return to the original rules for a 30 maximum. This will go into effect as soon as all of the owners have brought their rosters down to the off-season limit.

So just for clarification:

Last year we had a 33 man team
(30 + 1 IR + 2 PS)

This year will be a 30 man team
(28 + 2 Taxi, and if a player is put on IR a new spot will open up on your roster at that point)

Am I understanding and explaining this well?

 

To help clarify, here's how we got to this point -

The original rules made for a 30 man roster, +2 on the PS, and a spot for the IR.

Basically, we changed to 31 when we needed to use the IR slots for the practice squad. The extra spot was meant to represent the missing spot for injured players.

Now, we will have the ability to have the PS players in their own spot, 2 IR spots (one offense/one defense) and retain the original 30 man starter/bench max.

If you have 2 players on the PS and 2 players on IR you would have 34 total.

 

Would anyone be opposed to having an earlier draft date this year?

Looking ahead at my calendar, Monday May 21st may be an ideal date for the opening of the draft.

I'm good with a 7pm start so long as everyone else is.

I think we made pretty good time ripping through the rounds last season.
