I thought Mohamad Ali was the GOAT, because HE said so. Pretty too and the King of the World!

No,by most people. No one talks about divisional round winners and losers except while they're happening. It's not MY narrative, it's reality, and you would be foolish to ignore it simply because that's not how it should be.

Because it is what it is. "One man cannot summon the future" - Alternate reality Spock

You are obviously the smart one in this class.

Ali is the GOAT because he said so you said so and I say so so it must be so.

Sorry, I decided to have breakfast before I left, be back tonight.

Here's the point... by Sol's "theory", a QB could play in say, only (8) games EVER in their career, with all (8) of them in the Super Bowl. The team has to play a least (8) seasons of (16) regular season games and the playoffs. Then this (1) QB shows up (due to whatever circumstance has befallen the team) just for the Super Bowl and wins all (8) of them, but never plays another snap in any other game during their career... could then be considered the GOAT. Or this (1) QB could play in a regular season game (or a few) and play horribly. The coach benches said QB and the team wins and wins and ends up in the SB, but an injury forces the coach's hand to play the suck-ass pine rider... in (8) separate SB games. According to the "tally of hardware and no SB losses" criteria, that QB could then be considered the GOAT. And that, friends, is one of the reasons why the "logic" is flawed. No reasonable person with a sliver of brain energy would buy this.

    Good luck with that perception.

    Did someone fart again?

If you want to go the "hardware" route, U2 would be the greatest music group ever. The Foo Fighters would be the fourth greatest band ever. The Beatles... sixth.
Georg Solti would be the greatest musician the world has ever known, with 31 Grammy wins... has he ever lost? Don't know... don't care.

All About Eve, Titanic and LaLa Land are the (3) GOAT movies.

If you want to go "Hardware with NO LOSSES"...
    • Largest sweep (winning awards in every nominated category)
      • The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) won all 11 categories for which it was nominated: Best Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Original Score, Original Song, Sound Mixing, Art Direction, Makeup, Costume Design, Film Editing, and Visual Effects
I'm not trying to put words in Solomon's mouth, but with the "H vs NL" criteria, The Return of the King is the best movie ever... sorry, the GOAT.

    Seriously who cut the cheese?

So then the masses ARE the experts.

The reality is that if we didn’t knock them for SB losses that only Brady would be added to the discussion. There are only 3 QBs with 4 or more SB victories. Brady has been to 8 SBs winning 5 of them. The other QBs in this discussion haven’t even been to as many as Brady has won. I can appreciate the undefeated thing Sol has going but winning 5 of 8 is too good to ignore.

Most World Series wins by a starting pitcher with NO LOSSES... Lefty Gomez (6-0).

There you have it, folks, Lefty Gomez is the GOAT pitcher in MLB history. Class this missed.

You think you'd be the only one trying to bring sense to the masses...?

  14. NFL-Solomon Franchise Player Steelers

    No, WRONG.

THAT ^ isn't my theory. THAT is your fantasy delusion strawman of my theory. Congrats on tearing your own idiocy apart. Just like you fail to be able to count to 1 correctly, you ignore perception, while pretending you understand that.
Not only does YOUR theory fail to take into account perception of that player, it has all the likihood of you getting to be able to count to 3 since 1 and 2 are already a bust for you. I never said, it is only about SB wins, and your strawman mischaracterization, only just shows your disigenuity.

  15. NFL-Solomon Franchise Player Steelers

Again, yes you are, and badly at that. I never said it's all about the hardware, that is YOUR malfunction.

  16. NFL-Solomon Franchise Player Steelers

Meh, you and I know better, but the masses ARE reality.

  17. NFL-Solomon Franchise Player Steelers

I haven't ignored Brady, he is the 4th greatest ever, but still GOAT ineligible.

  18. NFL-Solomon Franchise Player Steelers

Wow, you are the king of mischaracterizing lies. I already said series championships do not translate to a single biggest stage scenario.

  19. NFL-Solomon Franchise Player Steelers

No, But I do think that no matter what I do, it won't change. Craft is king in too many areas of life.

  20. firehalo Guest

Why? He didn't lose. He won every game he played in the WS.
