I wouldn't be so sure or does your car roll along with tyres?

It's spelled for the Canadian way which happened to be spelled the British way.

American and Canadian English obviously have their roots in British English (it is called ENG lish). American English changed many of the French influenced spellings among other things and Canadian English adopted many of the American changes but not all of them.

True, the spelling hasn't changed as much here, but the brits keep evolving the language and canada isn't on board obviously.

    Soccer field=pitch
    Subway= the tube

My bro-in law is from there, he's been here since 1990, so he doesn't use much brit slang anymore.

That reminds me, I miss not having a numpad on my keyboard as that is how you can get quick accents in stuff with the alt key. Now I gotta turn on numlock using the function button to use them. So for é it goes from Alt+130 to Fn+ScrLk(NmLk) and Alt+jlm(130).

We’re gonna have to build a wall around Buffalo.

We still use pitch a decent amount. If you play soccer or another sport like rugby above the highschool level you'll hear them pretty interchangeably. Put ya I don't think anyone ever calls a baby carriage here a pram unless it's obviously one in British style.

I didn't start hearing pitch until tsn and sportsnet hired that scottish play by play guy.

I think you meant Tim Hortons vs Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop. Of course without the é.

Well I don't count any of them. They skew everything. lol. From 90-10 for Field they make it 90-10 for Pitch.

Dunkin is tims rival in the US and they can't topple it.

*I like dunkin better, although they failed here 30 years ago, they've improved their coffee and products.

funny you say that because I see the Canadian spelling of common English words a lot. Honour vs honor. Color vs colour. Neighborhood vs Neighbourhood etc.

It was a joke on how they market Tim's down there.

Tim's coffee is swill either way. People are just hooked on it.

Not in Eastern Pa. Wawa is KING! Someone released a statement from Dunkin Donuts that their donuts are not freshly made daily and are made and frozen at night and warmed up for the next day. People never knew that and only went for the coffee vs a day old donut that's reheated for sale. All I know is Wawa redid a lot of their stores and are very well run and managed. Their headquarters is 15 min from where I live. It's a multi-building campus!

Tim's did that years ago too. The donuts aren't the same. Especially stuff like fritters. They are partially baked and frozen and the sent to the stores where they are finished off in the ovens and then topped and filled. Donuts now come in 3 prices groups now, Regular($0.99), Specialty (anything without a hole, which is $0.20 more) and Premium which is almost twice as much as regular which are usually fancy temporary crap. Until last year only the Premiums cost a bit more and before a few years ago everything was like $0.80. Only good thing is that as of now, buying in bulk is still the same price no matter what donuts you pick, but the price isn't much of a deal as it used to be. It was like buy 6 for the price of 4 and 12 for the price of 6 pretty much. Now it's not close.

Tims has closed a lot of their american stores and is starting to decline here too. I remember their manhattan location, real disorganized. The only ones run properly are located within an hour of the border.
