2018 NFL DRAFT - GENERAL THREAD

My dad wears a Browns jacket every day, and whenever I go anywhere with him, it draws remarks. Perfect strangers have no problem approaching to let us know just how terrible the team has been, as if we are oblivious to the situation. lol! It's ridiculous... I've never seen anything like it. I think my dad just likes the fact it gets people talkin to him about Cleveland sports. Idk. I could live without my server at the restaurant taking a poke at the Browns, while he boasts about his beloved Steelers...Maybe it's just me.

 

I said MAYBE Lym was right. Obviously we'll never know conclusively. And I like Ward. I just think it would have been really nice to come out of the draft with both the QB and the RB.

 

No love for Nick Chubb?

 

We did get a QB and an RB. And I'm guessing they're the ones the FO wanted cause they drafted them. Just remains to be seen what the Browns' draft picks can do.

 

Yeah I like Chubb. I liked the Browns draft as a whole. I don't agree that Dorsey screwed up (I just saw DH's post in the other thread). Just think Barkley is a special player.

 

p.s. Really chaps my ass you got Genard Avery. Really liked that kid. Hope I was wrong about him and he blows!

 

When I go out my wardrobe consist of 1 of 2 Cavs NBA champs shirts, "The Land" shirt with the Cleveland sky line, a Blue/orange retro Cavs shirt, 1 of 3 OSU shirts, 1 of 3 Browns shirts, 1 of 2 Indians shirts, and if a jacket is required, my Browns jacket.

I must be fortunate to live in an area where the team has suffered (Houston). People constantly make comments about the Browns gear but it's always light hearted and typically strikes up a 5 minute conversation on who/why/what our teams are. Never had to take some serious smack talk around here (I would imagine it would be worse closer to Dallas, they're almost as obnoxious as Jets fans). I even get it at work while wearing my Browns hard hat, but it's all light hearted.

 

Denver had a deal in place w Buff if Chubb was gone...they got their guy.....I guess the Ward vs Chubb debate will last 10-12 yrs

 

I'm not going to quote a post with this. For 1. because I don't want any sensitive Browns fan to think I am attacking them. 2. This isn't about just one individual.

I am not a Browns fan obviously. I believe they will play in a Super Bowl sooner rather than later. I have stated on this board that I have a bet with my son. I see what they are trying to do.

Will they succeed? I don't know. I believe they will.

So for all of the Browns fans who see "negativity" everywhere they turn. Maybe those fans should start looking somewhere else. There are many people out there who think the glass is half full.

It says a lot about the individual who only notices the "negativity" and then accuses "everyone" of being anti-Browns.

We make the world we live in. This box you are looking at shouldn't be your world. Surround yourself with more positive people. I know times have been tough. Things will turn around. It always does. Just make sure you are positive so you can REALLY ENJOY the good times. Don't be one of those looking to hurt others on your way to the top. Just enjoy the view when you get there. It is much sweeter that way.

Of course I am, but don't act like you can possibly comprehend what it's been like, okay..."looking to hurt others on our way to the top"??? lol! Uhm No. Try "looking for some sweet ass long freaking over-due revenge!". ..It's so easy for a Steeler fan to raise an eyebrow in judgment while telling me that "things will turn around because they always do.".smh.. Walk a mile in my shoes my friend.....The next time the Steelers skip town, and the NFL decides that they will now play in another city and be the rivals of your new "POS" replacement Steelers team, that has a completely cluless ownership group, thus sending you on your TWO DECADE long journey of embarrassing, incompetence, and non-stop failure; just let me know, OKAY....

I don't ONLY see the negative. There is NO positive ever uttered publicly, unless it's me. lol! That's the truth. Ya gotta realize, I'm a target. I'm the guy that thinks we will get it turned around EVERY year. Everyone knows me as a long time Browns fan. So yeah, it's probably not the same as it is for most fans.. The last time I remember anybody in a public place say ANYTHING positive about the Cleveland Browns (and it wasn't me), I'm pretty sure Bill Belichick was our coach...

Don't worry wazoo. I know it's going to be sweet when we finally get things turned around, and you can rest assured I'll be enjoying every second of it....
