Don't ever rely on other people, that's where all the scammers with the "lose weight quick" diets will take your money.

Do your reading about the food you eat, study the food you eat. How much artificial flavor is in there? Corn startch? Soyabeans?

Learn what's good and what's shit, eat the good.

How much sodium? How much sugar? How many fat grams? This is all in your food and on the label.

How much sodium should I have in a day?
How much sugar should I have in a day? Fat grams?

Why is it important not to go over the daily allowable?
Why is it bad to have too much of these things?

Sugar and breads/pasta are your worst enemies in dieting. My comfortable weight is 160. I was up to 190 about 12 yrs ago. I cut out soda for years. I went to seltzer. I drink sodas occasionally but I mostly drink seltzer... and coffee. I weigh 162 at the moment. To curb the sugar fix, eat fresh fruit. Don’t just eat it, but study it, learn the texture, and the flavor. Appreciate the fruit. The fruit is your friend.

All fruit is a good snack, even almonds and walnuts.

160? I haven't been 160 since High School ! After a trumped up DUI in 1997, I lost 20 lbs just by not drinking. It was just coincidence. Then I started to walk 2 miles a day and then running it. I was down to 185 and I couldn't lose another pound. I eat whatever I wanted bc I ran 7 days a week. I could never be 160. Not happening. These past 2 years sober turned me into a worse eater than I already was. hell I ate worse when I lived in South Philly for 10 yrs but I walked 10 blocks to the subway to work everyday up and back M-F. I walked all over downtown Philly too from the subway to work and back etc. Now with the luxury of a car, I don't walk at all. I eat a boring lunch of a homemade ham and cheese sandwich. dinner is chicken or pork with a side of something - dice peppers, rice, or pasta. not a lot but to help the main course out. breakfast is a yogurt or granola bar. I drink water all day and night EXCEPT the hour at work for lunch. this is bad. I'm sure my food choices are bad too. I'm at fat bastard and I gotta start across the board and drop a lot of weight. I'm 46, so I can't eat my way into an early grave after I quit drinking alcohol cold turkey 2 yrs ago (May 9th) and never went back. If I can beat alcohol, I can beat this.

Thanks for the tips Halo and Skinny. Much appreciated.

I used to cook for myself all weekend long. this past year, I would go out to eat or order from somewhere. that has to stop on the money front and it's just bad for me. ugh. shoot me.

Your food intake is ok, you have to excercise.

    1 lbs= 3000 calories

You beed to burn them off.

I need to make a chart of the required sugar, carb and calorie intake per day for a man in his mid-40's. then start watching everything and bring in the veggies and fruit armies and start walking and biking again at the gym.

You should join a softball team to get started.

haha. I need a whole new mindset. tough to switch my entire routine and diet overnight to something totally different. I need too, but it's hard. I did it for alcohol, but there's more to that story.

    The Stockyards Smokehouse & Larder
699 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, Ontario M6C 1B2, Canada

it was on diners, drive-ins and dives on Friday and it looked insanely great. I wanted to go to it on Friday, it looked that good.
