This is the spot for everyone to check in and discuss some important topics for the 2018 season. #1 - We need to set a draft date. I'm going to start by suggesting Monday, June 25th at 6:00pm ET as the first day of the draft with Tuesday the 26th being the extra day if needed. Please, check your calendar and confirm that you can or cannot be available for this date. #2 - Setting a new league calendar. Considering the growth of the site, I will probably need to push the official start of the league year back until May 1st. We can consider options for how to rework the time and the PS rules but my first thoughts would be to open up trading year round on FleaFlicker. Obviously, free agency will remained closed until the Monday following the draft. #3 - FleaFlicker has created a 'Taxi Squad' position which, and I'm trying not to overplay this here, is absolutely fucking awesome for this leagues PS. With this option we can now consider having an IR spot and what rules to run with for regulating it. #4 - We need to make sure that everyone has their roster in compliance with the rules. #5 - We should review all the rules to make sure they are up to date. #6 - In reference to #5, there will be no scoring changes. Ok, that's all I got for now so feel free to drop your thoughts, concerns and suggestions.
I'm in. Would the draft be on Fleaflicker or like how we did it last year? That date should work for me.
First item up for vote - installing the IR. My opening thoughts on this are pretty simple: Two IR spots, one for offense and one for defense Player must be on an NFL injured reserve list Suspended players are not eligible I'd like to get everyone's opinion on this.
Works for me, but if we are using the actual NFL reserve list, do we really need to designate one each for offense and defense? Why not just offer two IR spots for ACTUAL IR players? Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the past you could stow away suspended players, taking that away kinda removes the need for Offense/Defense designation, doesn't it?
In keeping it as one for each side of the ball it gives owners the chance to protect one player for either side or perhaps forces a difficult choice if more than one offensive player or defensive player goes onto the IR. It keeps a team from holding onto two players from either offense or defense which would open up the possibility of them grabbing two from that same side of the ball and thinning out the FA pool just a touch more for everyone else. Being that the PS is balanced for similar reasons I would like to do the same with the IR.
The IR gets a yes vote from me as originally explained by Tim. On condition that FF doesn't have restrictions on the taxi squad that forces us to only stash rookies or something on there. I want our PS to be able to work the same as always. If this is listed in the other league I'm in I am in there too on the same condition.
REMINDER League rosters should be down to 30 already. 5 teams in violation currently. Spicy will be fixed by morning @Tim @beachbum @SPress Tim, you’ll have to let Jason know too. I vote as Co-Commish that everyone gets until 12:01am Saturday May 12th (Friday at midnight) to reach compliance...since we haven’t been thoroughly communicating. Then Tim or myself will make cuts for you.
Just dropped a defense, a retired guy and a shitbum. There's got to be a joke in there somewhere. Anyway, I should be @ 30 now. Thx for the reminder Truth.
