I gave up baseball in 1992 when the Pirates put in Stan Belinda to pitch in the NLCS. Didn't even see the Sid Bream debacle. As soon as they put Belinda in, I shut off the TV, threw the remote across the room and said, "That's it, I'm done with baseball" ... and have been since.

 

Looks like I'm going to have to say the Pens window has closed again, to set things right.

I stopped watching baseball for about 15 years after the strike. I could name so many players on the jays fron the 80s and only a handful that played from '95 to 2010.
Getting back wasn't the same and never will be.

 

I’m a super-casual glancing as I walk by baseball fan. Lately I can only watch about 2 innings until I’m bored as fuck or asleep.

 

I'm down to a half an inning, I can't sit in front of tv for 3 hrs to watch game #27 of a 162 game season.
The leafs in the playoffs are the only time I could sit in front of the tube for 3 hrs. Even with the leafs, I don't watch the whole game. Parts of the first, second and the last 10 mins on most nights.

 

Lauren Hart of the Flyers always does a nice job.

Until a few years ago, I hadn't even watched half an inning since '92, but when Mopsele from NGS died (a big Braves fan) I decided to watch a game in her honor, since the Pirates were playing them. I tuned in in like the second inning, and it was a week day (had to work the next day) and didn't that f-ing game go 19 f-ing innings and the Pirates lose on a bullshit call.

I took it as a sign to never watch again.

Contrary to this, I have been to PNC park to see a game 9 times since it opened. Once because my brother was visiting from florida and wanted to see the new park. 2 times because my nieces were going, and 6 times because I had to help entertain customers of my company in the box seats. Every single game I went to, the Pirates won.
