here is some info for your guys. I don't have how it works in Canada, but I have Comcast cable here outside of Philly. They rent you a router/modem for $11 a month. I am trying to lower my cable bill as it's high. I took of the BLAST internet package as it was $18 a month and saw an $11 surcharge on my account. I asked the customer service girl - Jessica what this was. She was like "oh your modem isn't free and we rent it to you for $11 a month." I then asked "can I still have cable tv without and just buy my own?" She said "sure, most people don't figure that out." l laughed and promptly did research on modem/routers and got one at Best Buy. I am saving $132 a year and if I had one all along, I would've saved $1980 over the last 15 yrs! So now I won't pay for BLAST or the modem/router and save $28 off my bill and $336 a year ! Not too bad.

 

Never rent.

 

skinny-most people don't realize they are renting the modems bc when it gets installed by the cable guy, he brings it with him. only on your monthly invoice IF YOU READ IT do you see you paying for it. $11 a month adds up after a few years if you keep the same cable company.

 

A Russian scientist has been hit by a car on Tuesday, shortly after contradicting the Kremlin and confirming that his nerve agent is what mysteriously hospitalized an ex-Russian spy.


Vladimir Uglev, one of the chemists who developed the so-called Novichok nerve agent for the Soviet Union, has repeatedly said that it was exactly such a substance that poisoned former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter last month. Uglev has now been hospitalized himself, after a car nearly ran him over near his home.


The driver “100% didn’t do it on purpose,” Uglev told a BBC reporter, who added on Twitter that the scientist is bruised but has no broken bones.

 

My keyboard is out of commission, it's about 2.5 years old. The last time I checked they were going for $99. I went on amazon and was surprised to see a price tag of $18.99 for a wireless????

Average price for one now is $25?

I guess tablets and labtops are slowly making the desktop a thing of the past.

 

yes - everything is cheap now. my laptop was $700. I can get the one now with all the bells and whistles for $350.

 

I have a fancy wireless keyboard and it was $31 bucks 2 months ago.

 

Didn't know that, interesting, reminds me of when VCRs dropped from $1000 to $149.

 

beautiful big screen, flat screen, tvs are under $800 now at BEST BUY. TVs 55 inches and up too.

 

I picked up a samsung 50 inch smart tv during the holidays for $600. The one I bought in 2011 was $1100, I ended up selling that for $240 on kijjiji.

 

^ nice. NEVER heard of kijjiji. Black Friday sales are silly as stores have sales all year long if you really look.
