Same. Tall cans at least. Hobgoblin and something called Brio with Vodka. It's an Italian citrus soda that tastes more like a cola. Almost tasted like the actual softdrink since it has that mixed drink in a can vodka aftertaste to begin with.
Joe was the best offensive player they've brought along. That's it. I don't have faith in their ability to raise super stars. Jackson is extraneous. RG3 is there. Woodrum could be a fine back up. Unless the Morhinweg suddenly got a creative streak, I don;t see this as a good pick at all. Not the right system. Not the right player. If Joe out for the season then maybe. And what a fucking waste of draft picks! Kinda fucked DeCosta a bit for his first year as GM next year.
Everyone expected the Eagles to trade down. No one thought they'd do it without gaining picks this year. We did trade up our later 4th though. So that's something. That 2nd next year is solid though.
Crazy thought but could Joe be done? He's made a fortune, had his 5th kid (I think). Maybe he has given them some indication he just doesn't want to do it anymore?
For the record... A post-June 1st trade of Flacco would open up 12M in cap space for 2018 and create a 16M cap charge in 2019.
Ok, so basically Ravens give up the ability to draft a guy in round 2 next year and bop back 7 spots in the 4th to take Jackson. At the very least, this better set a fire under Flacco's ass. Fans are going to call for Jackson by week 3 book it. Haha
They can't possibly get rid of him before 2020. There would've been at least another season to find a suitable replacement or b/u to push him at least in 2019. His dead money isn't even manageable until 2020 and that's still $8M. They won't find a trade partner for him for a long while either unless Ozzie can use Jedi mind trick over the phone. I haven't been this disappointed in a Ravens draft since Boller and even then I was this pissed. I don't see the sense in it.
Hurst. Just that he turns 26 at some point next season. So I was saying that Edmunds (Steeler now) won’t have to play him for 10 or so years. Maybe 8. The knock was his age. I’m just being a smartass though
If Beach's numbers are correct, they can easily without question dump Flacco after June 1 and be in a far better position with the cap both this and next year. They shouldn't drop Joe this year, but they have all the leverage to do so now.
Also, if they don't use the '18 cap space (12M) it carries over and helps to offset the '19 dead money (16M). If a guy like Haden comes free in August then they use it and still have another 10M in space (16M vs. 26.5M) they wouldn't have if Joe's on the roster. But I'm not there and am basing this on what I feel is a lack of enthusiasm for the game from Joe. I could be dead wrong about that.
I think everyone should be impressed that I fully covered the draft tonight on Twitter while writing a term paper.
But to whom? I don't think that they'll have a trade partner for his contract and what appears to be a "declining performance." Here's another take. From NFL.com: "He's an awesome athlete. He will not be able to play [quarterback] in this league, mark my words," one offensive coordinator opined to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "When he throws, he hopes." "Former Colts President Bill Polian believes wide receiver is Jackson's optimal NFL position." I can agree that this kid is electric, but he will face the same injury concerns that Cunningham, Vick, and RG3 did. Further he IS RG3 and the Ravens already have RG3 for a mere $1M. I'm spit balling but trying to make sense of this pick. I don't see the logic unless Joe is cut, traded or retires. Cut or traded doesn't seem likely at least this year. Retire? Ehhhh....back and concussions this year and an ACL/MCL two years ago. Other players endured worse and Joe has proven his toughness. My guess is that we'll likely see some major news from the Ravens before June 1st.
Notable slides to round 2... Cornerback Josh Jackson and tackle Connor Williams joined Guice and Griffin in Dallas on Thursday and join them in remaining available for selection in the second round. Defensive end Harold Landry, guard Will Hernandez, safety Justin Reid, defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, tight end Mike Gesicki, cornerback Isaiah Oliver and quarterback Mason Rudolph are some of the other notable names still on the board with the first round in the book.
