My grand slam home run would be for the Giants to announce they have traded down out of #2 - and - announce the trade before the Browns go OTC at #1. Then take Baker Mayfield at 1 and Saquan Barkley at 4. One minor flaw here is there is really no valid reason for the Giants to announce the trade before the Browns 1st pick.
Me taking my victory lap: Me passing by #showstopper and #bleachedbum on my victory lap: Side note: I'm really going to enjoy Baker. He's got a gif for everything!
Most recently taken photo of SAS: I'm really hoping, SAS, that you aren't going to have to eat a big serving of crow if Mayfield isn't the guy. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Ha ha - I've spent most of the day fainting from joy. Wouldn't be the first time, so until Roger says it tonight I'll still have that 1-2% of doubt. Just ready to finally commit to a legit QB for this team. The last one (Timmy Couch) happened soooooo long ago...
Gotta give credit where credit is due. IF the latest "insider" rumors are true and its Baker Mayfield at #1, then my hat is off to Sammy. He was on Mayfield way before it was cool.
While I agree with that. I thought that Dorsey was the only one who knew what the pick was? I really get angles from every end of the spectrum on here. Reminds me of election night, where Hillary was a 93% chance of winning. (sorry for speaking politics).
I dis-spelled that over on the Ravens' board yesterday. Our local news reported that Dorsey sat down with Jimmy Haslam Tuesday night and Haslam signed off on Dorsey's pick. Then, yesterday morning, Dorsey sat down with Jackson and the Coordinators and brought them into the loop. Later in the day, they brought in the rest of the coaching staff to get one final look at the Browns' draft board.
The stories were Dorsey is trying to tighten up the leaks in Berea. As such, he was withholding the information. It was also reported that everyone - coaches, owners, front office, reviewed the final draft board yesterday and everyone signed off on it. It's also probably not a coincidence that Hue Jackson just found out last night who they were drafting and the rest of the NFL world found out this morning. Hue's leakier than Greggggg William's pass defense.
The Russians tampering with John Dorsey and blackmailing him into selecting Josh Allen is something that sounds distinctly Brownsesque.
TBH... I'm less excited about being right about the pick as I am that Mayfield could be the QB to turn this thing around for us (finally). The notion the Browns could finally get this going is more exciting than all the "told you so's" out there.
